1000rr spring upgrade

1000rr spring upgrade

ok so i bought a f4i around DEC time frame,,,i already had a 1000rr front end on it,,, two months later the left seal let go,, no biggie,, my 929 did the same thing,,,, one month later i started seeing the tail tail signs that ment the right seal was going,,,,, so i was talking to the local dealer about how i could solve this,,, we talked about dif weight oil,, dif springs,, and me losing weight (240,now im 222) i decided on springs for the first thing to try,,, i went two weights above mine,,,, feels great,,,does not pogo on on me like i thought it would,, i dont really know how to set them up for stoppies, but im not killing them anyways,, any advice on setup would help... ill keep all posted on how long it will take to pop these seals again,,,,,,,

Actually increasing the oil from 10wt (stock) to 20 wt makes the forks totally bullet proof and much much stiffer. I was 215 rocking 10 wt and blew them in a few months, 2 yrs later at 20 wt and 20 lbs later never an issue!

thanks we were talking about that and i was thinking heavier oil would increase pressure and blow them faster,,,,,, ill try that next time,,,,,
