636 DBB question

can i just re-route my throttle cables to the right side of the frame neck instead of out the left side? will they be long enough and is there any harm in doing it?

thanks

That's exactly how I have mine routed. Works great although they do get squished a bit at full left lock.
I am really glad you put that pic up though b/c I was wondering how well a hyperpro or a ohlins would fit w/ the dirtbike bars. Now I see it will be perfectly fine. Thanks.

Yeah I never had kinking issues, and what melloyello said may happen. I haven't had the bike for a while, but loved it.

Bars are Renthals.

You're welcome, yeah I really don't care for the GPR style, I have a Sprint sitting here, once I get another 03'-04' I'm getting the mounting kit for it.
I have a GPR on my 06' and really don't care for it. But that's just me.

I was just showing the OP. And I really don't think renthals are cheap bars by no means.
I liked and never had a problem with them. I built the bike back in 04' and I couldn't afford gold bars back then. lol

Re: 636 DBB question

Who cares what color the bars are? It's not all about looks for everyone. I like stuff that functions, I don't care about looks. I get plenty of those.

Re: 636 DBB question

When I built mine I went to a local shop that made brake lines and hoses and I got the lines a lot cheaper.

Glad it worked, post up pics when ya can.

Re: 636 DBB question

It's getting there, clip-ons or db bars, there both fun to ride with. You keeping your upper on or taking it off?
I went streetfighter after I totalled my upper and it was a blast.

thats not a clean way to run them cables, take the tank and air box off and run them out the right side of the neck, then put it back together, works great and looks clean

I understand and was only showing the op how I ran them without any problems. After looking at it your right and would do that if I ever get a 03'-04' or go DB bars.

I had this bike in 04' I don't have the bike anymore. But I do miss it.

Re: 636 DBB question

i had the samme prob with the brake line.. i ended up using 2steel braided lines.. one front caliper 2caliper and i ran a double banjo bolt on the right side and hooked up the long line up to that and ran it to my master cyliner.. i have like 3 feet of extra line.. lol my front brake line is massive.. took forever to bleed but got it workin
