Ive got a 99 F4 and its a piece of ****, basically. Not too long ago I broke the key off in the ignition, so I have no key. I was messing around with the ignition wires and jumped 2 of them and now it will crank (when I hit the start button). It will not start though. I tried spraying starting fluid and it acts like it wants to start but wont. The bike has been sitting in my garage without being started for about a month. A month ago, the bike was fine. Can it be plugs? Any ideas?

try useing oven mitts..

 

your blinker fluid must be low. or maybe check the flux capacitor.

 

or call 911 and give them the VIN and they should be able to tell you exactly what to do.

Locksmiths are key

 

Its not going to be the plugs, you should buy a new ignition set

 

It takes more than two wires to start a bike. The bike does have a low pressure fuel pump that is why the bike won't run. So yes buy an new ignition set.

 

Or steal one in his case then go to a locksmith and have a key cut

 

I knew the stolen thing would be thrown around quite a bit. I'm probably the most broke stunter on here-no way can I afford a locksmith. Its not stolen, its mine. Sorry I dont have pictures and all that of the bike yet, I'm pretty new on here. Just wait, I'll have proof that its mine-and to show you how big of a piece of **** it is. Anyone selling an ignition set?

 

hes probably telling the truth..... if its as crunchy as he says it is, youd really have to be one broke a$$ low life ****** to steal it! HA HA HA

 

My buddy told me he would give me an ignition set for a 929-and he has the key!-Can i make it work? I promise as soon as i get it running again, I'll post up some pics of it. ITS NOT STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!!

 

break the switch part off of it from the tumbler part...... rewire it properly....... if that does not work its an operator problem.

call the locksmith and tell him your keys broke off deep in the ignition (Im sure they have seen that before) and ask him if he has old locksmith method to get it out, then have him make you new key

 

it could be the contact base of the ignition, there is a diode in it that blows out of something is grounded out in the ignition....

i dont think the fuel pump will turn on if this goes out though if i remeber right......

 

Would a 929 ignition work? If not-locksmith it is. I'm going to get that ignition right now then I'll mess with for awhile. Thanks!

 

its a f4..it isn't fuel injected yet
