My buddies 07 gsxr 600 keeps shutting off unexpectidly, he can be just riding around normal on the streets and the bike will just shut off, or even at the spot during practice. His bike shut off on him during a gumby "OUCH" I heard something about it might have to do with the exhaust valve?

ANY IDEAS?

 

Start by checking u r batterie cables, sometimes the screws get loose.

 

I was gonna say the same thing...my old gsxr used to do that all the time, I changed out the battery thinking that was the problem, but it ended up just being the cables...duct tape or zip ties work wonders!

I got a 06 600 with a yosh slip on and the only thing with the exhaust valve is when it gets to hot the valve cable gets a lil to much slack and throws the F.I. light....my guess is besides the battery connectors check the kickstand is tight and not bouncing down off bumps or anything and tripping the sensor, when the bike was assembeled it might have been overlooked.

 

i put a micron on my 06 gsxr 600 and the F1 light came on 100 miles later, i thought it was FI but it was F1 and it was for low coolant or oil. that what they said anyway.

 

I had my side stand come down mid wheelie on the gsxr 1000. That was one of the shittest feelings i ever did feel. Nothing like looking at the front tire at 75mph feet in the air and cars right behind you.

 

you have a short

 

I hate mousetraps cause theres that 1/2 second as the bike starts coming down and you know your fucked

 

check the kick stand, from spinning the bike around in parking spots my kick stand use to get loose. I had mine come down during a ss and it wasnt pretty

 

I used that half second to pull in the clutch which saved me but it was about as close as id ever like to come thank god for full farings.

 

i disconnected my kickstand sensor after hearing stories, now i forget to put it up when i take off!
