iv done some research and found out theres a few ways to chop a stock pipe. i also hear that sometimes when u chop a pipe it makes the bike run like ****. whats the best way to chop a stock can? 4 inches out of the middle and weld it back together? if anyone else did it like this does your bike run like **** since doing this

hehe ive just been talking with OMR bout this and he's convinced me to chop a piece out of the midpipe rather than cut the end-can. Im yet to do it but i cant see why the bike would run worse...it'll just be quieter than my Howler pipe :D

I cut through the H in Honda and had the cap welded back on. Almost as quiet as stock. My welds look like **** but so does the rest of the bike :YEAH My boy though cut through the mid pipe like mentioned above and it looks a lot cleaner and sounds just as quiet.

dont know if the f4 pipes are the same internals...i know they look similar from the out side but this is where I cut mine...i got lucky and hit it just at the begining of the last baffle...so I have the three shooter look....I will probably trim and put the cap back on it over the summer while i'm home from college and have access to a welder....

Re: f4i pipe chop

i was thinking about taking the bracket off that holds it to the bike and chopping 4 inches outa the middle and putting it all back together. i bet your bike is loud without the end cap on huh

I did the same thing on mine, but from what I hear there are no baffles on the other side of the pipe. so the next one I do Im going to take like 6 inchs off the front.

Re: f4i pipe chop

If you can I'd cut it from the mid pipe since you'd have a extremely quiet bike but still it'll be short enough to do 12's or circles. The guy I bought the F4i from gave me a shorty exhaust he made and when I put it on...my bike was so weak I seriously had to rev the **** out of it just to get it up. Even let some top guys ride the bike and they said my clutch might be fried. Took the muffler off and put back on the stock length one and the bike had no problems coming up. Turns out the guy did a shitty *** job on the shorty and when you shine a light into the pipe you see the end pipe almost directly up against one of the inner chamber walls. So mostly as long as you do it right then it shouldn't affect the bike to much.
