Don't ever use a banjo bolt w/bleeder...

I ordered all my parts for a hb setup and thought hey this would be a good idea. Since there's a problem with bleeding because the screw is now at the bottom I figured this could help. So I ordered one and everything finally came in yesterday. Started putting it together today and started bleeding it. Was using a vacuum bleeder to speed up the process. Thought maybe it was finished pumped the lever a couple times felt decent but that it could be a lot better. Noticed though with every pump it was getting weaker. Looked at the bleeder part on the banjo and it was leaking. So I tightened it a little (and by little I mean little) and gave it one more pump and the fluid just shot out. Took off the bleeder part and it's completely mangled and warped. Which is great cause now I'm short one banjo bolt...hopefully someone has one in stock somewhere.

theres 1000s of ppl out there using em i know a bunch of ppl myself and never heard any problems. ur prob might be something other than the bleeder screw. and why would u use a vacuum pump on a speed bleeder? u should just put a hose on it to save on mess and pump the **** out of it, and also you still have to flip your master cylinder right side up to bleed it correctly no matter what youre using.

Nah that part aint a speed bleeder it's just a banjo bolt with bleeder on the end. If others are using that part then I must've just got a dud which still sucks.

Haha yeah especially when I received it I looked at it and said "ahhh man wtf?" haha. Oh well I got a regular banjo bolt in there that my friend at a shop gave me. Now it's just the job of bleeding this thing correctly. I can't do any 1 finger lock ups which seams to be the goal...but...this may just be due to the fact that it's a frembo haha. I'll try that ziptie over the lever overnight thing and see if that helps.

i know it sounds dumb but don't forget to change the crush washers...they're not reusable and you'll leak and lose pressure w/o getting new ones...

They MIGHT leak

Ya its the proper way to do it, but in a pinch, you can get by without them

I've only ever had 2 crush washers leak after being re-used..

Hell I've NEVER bought a new oil plug washer

Re: Don't ever use a banjo bolt w/bleeder...

Yup that zip tie trick really works cause that lever is solid now. Before I was able to pull the lever all the way down to the grip. I just cut the zip tie and now I can't even get it anywhere close to the grip. An all the freeplay it had is gone as soon as I slightly pull the lever there's resistance. Before there was like 1" of play.
