Re: junky subframes

majority rules, 350 it is for the 04-05 gix plus shipping. and the 06-07 is still 450, it is two sections and takes twice as long to build.

steel subframe+gorrilla scrapes=broken main frame....come on now dont you kids know that? buy a ****** 929 brace the factory subframe with quarter inch x one inch plate and wah-lah you have a bulletproof setup... or spend 450$ on a steel subframe ,gorrilla scrape it ,break your main frame then wish you rocked a bike that doesnt have a flimsy weak brittle subframe

ok, so heres what you do=make a custom 12 bar out of half inch x one inch plate, run it down to the main frame, tie in with longer bolt, then turn down and tie into the top rearset bolt with longer thru bolt(nut on backside) and wah-lah, you just encased your factory subframe with steel without putting extra strain on the main frame, my partner who is 250 pounds rocks this setup and clacks out on 12 hard daily and no issues yet...i should start charging you guys for these tips though if you dont understand or cant visualize this hit me up and i will post a pic

how about i pay you to shut your ******* moulth...... keep ridding your 8 year old bike you ******* clown..... now adays, in the 21 century, subframes are cast and no amount of bracing is going to help them...... if you own a bike 05 or newer chances are that your going to at one point or another have to get a few subframes.... (IE 05 06 636, newer gixxers, all Honda's newer then 06)

wow, i sense some hostility... maybe i would rock something newer if it lasted like the 929 and as far me being a clown, i do make people laugh sometimes so ...oh yeah and how much will you pay me to "shut my ******* mouth" because i could actually use the money right now? bikes with cast subframes are stuntable obviously but just take more $ and bracing silly little trick, tricks are for kids!!!! somebody out there appreciates my info/posts so quit being hateful and mean and stop the aggressive posts, this site is for stunters to share and communicate in a polite orderly fashion dont you know that?

hey hey hey now, dont get your thong bunched up, i thought i could have and express my opinions and thoughts without the namecalling but ok...so all i was trying to get at is that for 450$ it better be tubular and gold plated and that there is alternatives(like bracing or encasing)that are inexpensive and i know there are others that agree so your right this site is filled with "idiots and brokedicks" because somebody that doesnt appreciate others ideas and wisdom could possibly be referred as such....

Re: junky subframes

you have a 929.
they are talking about gsxrs and i am talking about 05 636.....
you dont have any idea what you are talking about.....
if you tap a round bar on a 05 636, sub is bent and thats the truth
i have a scrapeworks sub on my f4i..... it stiffins the bike and makes it more responsive to body movment..... there are more resons to get the steel sub the just protection
your talking about older hondas and we are talking about newer suzukis and kawi....
do you understand why you are stupid now

Re: junky subframes

my gixxer frame has taken hard hits, no problems yet........ the sub-frame is junk for what we do.period the end.(04-05) i've never said i'm out gorilla scraping, but i've wacked the **** out of my steel tubular sub-frame to see if would take the abuse, and it did. now all this reinforcement talk is jibber-jabber for the 04-05 sub-frames(gsxr), if you have weak cast, it's still weak cast. you can reinforce it and it will help, but won't keep the sub-frame from cracking. it's just a poor design for asubframe for what we do.

all sub-frames can break, even f4i's seen it more than once. all it takes is one wrong hit at a weird angle..........

i've thought about that and have considered testing bolts with notches in them so they break before the frame. sacrificial bolts. but i'd have to find out what force is required to break a frame in order to design the bolts

Wow youre just Mr. Know it all arent you. Well Mr. Know it all you obviously dont know wtf sub ties are. Maybe they wont save your sub from a ton of gorilla scrapes but it does help taking pressure of the sub. Anyway, have a good night.
