You bring up a valid point but I would say in drgnazz's defense that sick does a lot more business so the cost of their parts maybe remained around the same where they didnt change it OR they could start changing their prices soon coz of this thread

Here is my question ... According to the deal that Neal received, looks like we are at ~28% increase. The national average for gasoline has only increased ~4.5 since May of last year.(Per the EIA: http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/gdu/gasdiesel.asp ) I understand that the cost of fuel will have an effect on shipping, and raw materials ... but almost 30% ... really?

Maybe I am just a cheap ***, but I am really bored at work and I don't quite understand where all of the inflation is coming from.

I'm looking at it like this. Scrapeworks used to sell them for $450. When I got mine for $350 that was a steal. And it came w a bar. Now its at market price until someone else decides to make them and then they'll be competition so someone will lower their price. I understand the whole inflation thing but dont know if the costs and increase in fuel total up to an extra c note

Re: junky subframes

i can get you a steel subframe, just like the one on my bike for $400.00 shipped. i've tried to break mine and haven't done it yet.(don't think i can tell you the truth) the stock ones are selling for$250-300 on e-bay for a minty one. pm if interested

mine looks just like the scrapeworks for half the price, if a weld breaks, it will be replaced/fixed. guaranteed quality!

I had his sub on my gsxr before I sold it and it was quality. I gorilla scraped that thing a bunch of times every day while learning the rear brake and it held up great. Stock on the other hand and 1 gorilla scrape youre out of a subframe. I went through 3 or 4 subframes on the gsxr before I got the steel one from drgnazz. Then I smartened up and just bought a Honda

Re: junky subframes

I have been making them for two years, never had one complaint. no bending or broken welds. I was talking about argon gas that has gone up, and metal prices go up almost daily. electricity is almost double what it was 6 months ago. and I guess if you want to call laser cut tabs and brackets "homemade" then you go right ahead, but I dont know anybody that has a laser in their "garage".

laser cut brackets or not ITLOOKS like a homemade piece.i mean dont get me wrong, i know how much time it takes to build a subframe but 450$ today 500$ tomorrow and then how much$? all im saying is that for 450$ it better be tubular and bitching looking not just strong so my advice is to drop your $ or go tubular!!!
