back dating a policy is against the law.... in texas and in many other states my fiance is a claims general manager for gieco..for the east coat region... i just called here and the only way you can get that policy back dated to cover the accident is if you had a bike and traded it in or sold it then got the one you wrecked... by state law you have 30 days to report any newly bought vehicle and they will back date the policy with a proof of purchase date.... but if you just got the bike and didnt have insurance in the first place you are fucked on that buddy... cause you cant even leave the lot legally without full coverage...unless it is financed with through suzuki, yamah,or kawasaki.... but on the lawsuit side you are good... but you will only get what here insurance will cover...example...say you get a judgement for 50k but she is only insured for state minimum coverage in texas...which is 25 per person in a accident..and 20k for property damage...well all you getting is 25k for the medical bills and pain and suffering...and no more then 20k in property damage.... but if you would have had proper insurance like most folks... you can use you uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and make up the differance for what she cant pay...so your insurance company would have paid you the difference then sued her to get the money back.... so good luck with the claim buddy.... and make sure you document everything....and my girl said she has sat in on many lawsuits and the ones were you dont have insurance... usually pay a low claim cause no insurance shows a lack of responsibilty and character issues.... i know it has nothing to do with you getting hit... but lawyers will use anything they can against you.... well .... i usually charge 100 bucks a hour for this valued info...but i am gonna let you slide just tell your boy to buy some stasis shoes.... when he gets some bread...
www.stasisshoes.com

and i side not for eveybody... never carry state minimum insurance it sucks... at least get the medium range insurance... i carry the max in virgina... 500k for bodily injury/500k for doctor bills/and 250 k in property damage....cause when people think of accidents... they think of hitting cars..and ****... so they think property damage is jsut cars...wrong...my partner hit a generator..that powered a condo building...and the power company hit him with 122k bill and he only had 25k in property damage... so he is stuck making payments every month until the 90k+ bill is paid off...which he will be dead before they get all the money....
ok i have thought insurance 101 long enough for the day

I don't think they look on insurance fraud too kindly anywhere. The lawyer fee alone for a defense against going to jail may end up being more then the bike was worth.

Hopefully everything is alright with ur buddy in the hospital!!
