Gear : Astars Sniper

So, I picked up my new jacket today and the elbow armor is all weird and won't stay in place. It slides down to the wrists and doesn't cover my elbows. Other than that I love it and couldn't be happier but wtf is going on here? Am I missing something? I looked in the arms and couldn't find any openings in the mesh liner that allows for any kind of adjustment and when I get the pads where I want them they fall back to the end of the arms as soon as I take the jacket off.

I tried on the Icon Arc and it fit better but was 100$ more so I didn't get it. Boo Astar on this one. Unless I fuggered something up.

I have the Thor one and its the same thing. I think the best way to go is the T-shirt armor and then wear elbow pads...

Worse when I'm in riding position. I think I'm going to try and find a tailor to fix it.

For the lot I think I'm going to go with the 661 suit.

Sucks tho that no one else has this jacket that's willing to speak out against it. I have no sponsors so I'll tell it like it is.

Re: Gear : Astars Sniper

Got 3 of them and don't have any problems? They fit into a pouch in the arm secured with velcro. Maybe yours isn't in right.

what D said!!!

the pads fit into a pouch and are designed to move a little. not as much as you describe though, something sounds wrong.

did you purchase this from a dealer that already had the jacket on the floor?if so maybe look into returning it for another one.

if all fails, alpinestars customer service is top notch, i guarantee they will fix the problem!

Re: Gear : Astars Sniper

Ok, I think something is wrong then after hearing all the replies. I looked around and could only find one velcro opening for the shoulder armor and nothing for the elbows. The dealer told me the pads were free floating and supposed to be that way but I'm not going to argue with someone like Darius or Dan. For everyone else, I'll keep trying to see whats wrong with this [only left arm, right arm is fine] jacket. Post results soon and thanks for the replies!!

Re: Gear : Astars Sniper

Its all good yo. I talked to Astars support and they said it might be slightly too big but we figured out how to move the armor. Its velcro'd in but has no access like the shoulders that we could find. The customer support rep wasn't very familiar with the jacket either but looked everything up and we fixed it. So, if you're 170 and 5'11" then you CAN wear an XL and have the baggy freedom I was looking for and the pimp *** protection of the Sniper.:YEAH
