2nd gear slip, wheelies only

i was just out riding my f2 and i started i wheelie in 1st..... switched to 2nd and just before i switched to 3rd it popped out on 2nd..............so i try it again a few times and it didnt do......then it did it again a few times. it wont do it if i pull it up in 2nd, it only does it after i switch to 2nd(on a wheelie and it will do it 1 out of 6 times probably) it goes through the other gears fine...... anyone know if i should replace the gear before it gets worse or is there something i can do to stop it from popping out of gear.....thanks....

i am not to good at putting it at bp quick...... i have to play with the throttle, so my speed gets up pretty fast........usually by the time i need to hit third i am already at bp.......i'm still learning, and it gets more fun every time i bring up the wheel:YEAH

everyone has a dif tip for learning. some say learn in first and you will learn better...i recommend a bike you dont care about, clutch clutch clutch...and no matter what gear you are in...if you bring the bike up and are gaining speed BRING IT DOWN. and try again..keep tryin and eventually you will hit bp and notice you dont gain speed. that is a much better feeling.

are you doin sitdowns i assume? or standups and shifting lol

hit balance point as soon as possible and be done with it... you can learn more stuff and it will open a whole new meaning of the word wheelie. just a roll of the wrist... i finally learned how to hit bp 6 months ago and now i love changing lanes around cars and honkin my horn at people looking.

i can hit bp quick if i am at a dead stop or going very slow (sit downs and now staggerd) thats what i have been practicing in a lot...... but if i am ripping a wheelie down the road it takes a little longer for me to find bp....whitch is fine cuz i seem to focus more the faster i go...whitch is only about 45 to 50 mph.... i dont have gauges so i dont know

Re: 2nd gear slip, wheelies only

I'd say stop shifting gears and just practice a little more in 2nd gear. What good is getting BP in 2nd after having to pop it from first? If you ever wanna do a wheelie on the freeway are you gonna slow down to 10mph then pop it up? haha

if you have slow **** down you should be good faster. if you only think youre doin 50 then you should be able to clutch 2nd right up to bp. and like the kid above said...the faster you get to bp the better. that way you dont gain any speed powering it to bp.

jsut make sure you have good brake fluid if you start pullin behind bp and using rear brake alot lol. i just looped my r1 at about 30 yesterday cuz my brake was ****** gone!

+2, most likely a shift rod though.

ps. don't shift in a wheelie, it's just not necessary.
