a twelve bar that sticks up higher then your seat makes them easy ..
get in close as you can to the bike and keep your knee against the tank for ballance

I've been workin on them a lot too. I like to look for videos of other riders doing them and try to take tips from that. Currently what I'm found works best for me is the age old foot on seat. I've tried foot in subframe (hole in seat) before but I couldn't get good results out of it. I'm still trying to work on body positioning and where exactly my knee goes.. mad props to those who can do it!

i have also been working on it
and like OMR said you have to get in real close to the bike and find someway to prop a knee or leg against something
and dont put the idle too high and SMOOOTH as hell on the brake
i'm doing them with my foot ON the seat though as opposed to in which is hindering cause my leg is slightly bent i think...but then again i've never been totally successful with this yet...NTH is easy though
