mmi school is it worth the time?

Some colleges have motorcycle repair majors. I'm actually doing that because I'm getting paid to go to school. But all you really need is experience. Having that certificate and being able to run a dyno aren't worth the cost of technical school.

In my experience, I'd have to say, that the biggest part of wrenching on anything, is being able to diagnose a problem and know what and where it is to get it fixed. Plus, sometimes, or most of the time, your replacing it with parts that are OEM, if it's under warranty. Wrenching on anything mechanically is repititous. Anyone can learn how to do a rebuild or swap a defective part. But diagnosing the problem and knowing where the problem lies, makes for a good mechanic. Plus, it would be a good idea to learn alot about the electrical side of it. Electrical is a bigger hassle to work with, because it's not like a waterpump or fan or cam out of whack. If you have an electrical problem, you have to know where it's coming from, and how to fix or isolate the problem from ******* up again. But in anything you do, like others said, your only going to get out of it, what you put into it.......
