1000RR questions, need experienced stunter help

All I know are Honda's, don't want another brand. Just got rid of, I hope my last 929. I'm ready for a new street killer, but 954's are hard to find in good condition that aren't over priced. I'm really thinking I want a 1000RR, I need help understanding what major differences besides what's on paper. Are there between 04-05 models and 06-07. I'm going to be doing standard ****, Idle wheelies, stoppies, circles. Besides both of them having shitty posture for staggered wheelies, are they that far off from each other. Obviously i'm looking at 04-05's because of the price. But i've heard from a non stunter that 04-05's are garbage and 06-07 is the way too go. I don't care about the power difference i'm not drag racing it, I want to know from a stunter. How well does it do the basics, i'm not trying to progress on this bike. I just want to be able to do what I could on my 929 and have it feel about the same. I can fix the posture with a custom rear peg. Stunters you know what I mean I hope, if your a 929 and 954 rider. You know the feeling i'm looking for. Thanks for your input

thanks for the comments guys, Keep em' coming. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new bike. So besides the power, the plastics, and whatever small details the 04-05's are the same as 06-07's ?. And how difficult is it to get rid of that crazy *** damper?.

its real easy to take em off, and u will def want to replace it with a real damper. i seen 1st hand how unreliable they are for rolling stoppies, my bro in law got a heavy tank slap at about 40mph with that pos stock damper and trashed his bike.

Re: 1000RR questions, need experienced stunter help

the damper is a must remove....take he tak cover off take and its real imple.....

while ur at it ditch tje stock clipons and get some woodcraft/vortex/stuntme clipons....turn them out and get used to the hydro clutch till u tame ur beast

id go -1max in the front....it pulls nicely on stock gears tho

i think manny n darius said -1+5 was way too much gear for that 06 they had...

remember send me the front fender or Nags maybe u can end ur auction early and hook me up dude!!!

Re: 1000RR questions, need experienced stunter help

There are a few differences between the 04-05 and the 06-07. Stator for one, more power, slightly larger front brake disks, revised flash on the ecu. There was enough of a difference that I spent the extra grand and picked up an 06.

check out 1000rr dot net and you'll find your answers very easily.

Re: 1000RR questions, need experienced stunter help

Looks like a 954 is my near future, thanks for all the feedback. It's too bad the newer bikes are even further away from what we would like to have. I'm going to spend more than I want for a 954, but at least I know what I'm getting. "Until next time, clutch it Up":YEAH

Re: 1000RR questions, need experienced stunter help

I rode my boys 06 1000rr and over all its not bad it idles fine for slow **** its not really jerky...... IMO and that thing is an endo beast the forks are set-up perfect no adjustments needed again..... IMO The only 2 things that I f-ing hate is 1...That damn hydrolic clutch it sucks because you have to feather it for slow **** and 2nd that thing is freakin heavy as ****!!!!!!!! Again IMO
