I've used opened bottles of brake fluid a few months later and no problems. I just squeezed the bottle so there is less air to take moisture from & just put the cap back on

I never heard the bleeding trick, i'm gonna try it, thanks!

as long as you have the cap on the bottle while it's stored it wil last a very long time , i mean think about it when you bleed the brakes on your car the system is open for a good 20 or 30 minutes and that brake fluid is still good some times for years..

leaving the cap off your res over night shouldn't be a problem either as long as it is in a warm dry place like a garage but i wouldn't leave it open if it is in a place that is damp or out side over night
Right on......just treat your fluid like it's a coke bottle working with the carbonation and is not ifluenced to loose carbonation (gain water) if there is air in the bottle.....It'll be good for a long amount of time, and you CAN get tons of water in the fluid in there by leaving the resovoir for days....

Also, this trick doesn't guarantee to get all the air out, and chances are it definitely wont. Remember air can get hung up in places. But this isn't necessairly a bad thing for a handbrake system, because it'll keep the handbrake soft enough to pull, but for that i reccomend putting an air bubble into the master itself, so it's easier to pull, NOT air in the lines.

Yea but who is gonna wait two weeks or so to bleed their brakes?...
Especially if you can do it in 10 minutes with a tube and a botle, that way you wont spill a drop either..

This is not good advice...

If your master is too hard to pull then you need a new master... putting air into the system is gonna give you a mushy, un-predictable feel... w/ less power

And whether you put the air into the master, the line, the caliper, whatever... it's all in the same place and will do the same thing.
