Your still going to need the 929/954 Axle/Bearings. The shaft sizes are not the same, also HAi no longer has a store front and I dont see the machine link on the site anymore

Re: f4i front end conversion

got my front end to day looks like i will need a couple of shims on the rim. the 954 triple is just a bit wider then the r1s. also i picked up an 05 front rim like the 5 spoke better but looks like i will have to shim the rotors or the calipers a little to get everything to to line up as well as take a little off of the diameter of the rotors. hopefully all works out i am not to fond of the 3 spoke wheel for sure. anyone see any potential problems with the shimming.

Why not. Use the r1 tripple?? Some one tell you it won't work?? I think there is a tread called custom bearings on here that will give you some good info about this. I'm on the I pod or I'd look for the thread for you, I'm be home tomorrow, maybe I'll call you....

Re: f4i front end conversion

thought bout it but i like the 05 wheel better. and don't really like the look of the r1 triple top. plus that was one thing that i was missing so i decided to use the 954 triple. but ya of course after getting into this great idea i have realized kinda pain in the *** but oh well i have had a clapper long enough. and i know the tread, where i got the idea from.

Re: f4i front end conversion

Been searching around for a while and can't seem to locate enough info.....does anyone know if an f4i wheel will work on the rc51 frontend? I know the 954 wheel will work but I would rather use my wheel I already have and not have to bother with buying another wheel. Any help is would be appreciated.

Nowhere in this thread does anyone specifically say that an f4i wheel will/will not work on an RC51 front end (so why don't you read the ******* thread?). I saw where one can have the f4i wheel machined to fit the 954 but what about the rc51? I would preferably like to hear from someone who has done the mod......Also......does anyone runnning the r1 frontend have any problems with not being able to turn far enough? (like the forks and tabs bump the frame too soon?)

Re: f4i front end conversion

Yo! I built my f4i and I used a 97 gsxr front end(cus I had it n didn't wanna spend nothin)and a sealed bearing from ebay. They are only like 4 bucks shiped on ebay. My front end ****** sucks! But I learned mad wheelie skills on this bike. I leave the stoppies for the 636.

Re: f4i front end conversion

RC 51 front will take f4i wheel if its machined just like if it was goin on a 954 front end. 954/929/rc51 all use same wheel as far as axle and bearing size
