arrested for filiming?

Has anyone ever had the cops or other law enforcement harrass them or even arrest them for filiming? Whether it be while filiming or after the release of a DVD.

****, they are the cops they can if they want- the question should be does it hold up in court?
me and my buddy adam went over to rotc 2 and a day before the ride we did a street session. adam was driving the car w/ drew stone filming the sf when the cops came they got pulled over and adam had no liscence so the cop was dick and pretty much said give up the footage or go to jail. needless to say he gave em some of the footage (nobody was happy bout that)

I'm pretty sure theres a law against spectators of illigal activities..

Everyone filming can be arrested for the crime being commited is what I heard..

Well what I do know is - If your on private property. and you have WRITTEN permission from the property owner(s) and i mean EXACT permission for riders bike etc everything on paper..

and you have the correct legal filming releases

They cant hold you for jack ****. they can always ticket you etc. but it's not going to hold up in court. I can only assume if you do it on the street and cops find out who filmed it im sure youll get it in the *** some way or another

yes you CAN be arrested or ticketed. its just like the illegal street racing. just for BEING there as a spectator you can be arrested or ticketed. the fine in San Diego for that is like $1200 plus they can impound your car.

i havent heard or seen it done with bikes yet down here but they can if they want.

nobody gives written permission and if they did then they would be responsible for a guy that wrecks and tries to sue them....

Hold on to ya tongue on that one hommie..

I got the lock on a spot here in my town..

I got contracts written out stating that "persay riders" are allowed on the premisis have permission to use the lot. and in the contract it all specifys all damage done is the responsability to the rider and in contract as your signature states that you will pay etc.. and theres a few statements about no spectaters are ALLOWED - Unless they sign a written agreement too..

The deal was we are ok to be there.. break ****. must pay for it.. but there was the what if a spectator shows up and we kil them? they will sue the company that owns the property so we agreed that were liable for all spectators on the property even tho they have to sign something else to be there or there trespassing and the cops come to arrest them. and its in the contract that we have to call and report there presence or we forfeit our privledges.

+ to having a family that owns a buisness

and + to having family that is a lawyer.. and a lil help in the " HOW TO SECTION on the contract i copied and altered"

thats the point of written permission so you can't sue, it puts the responsibility on the rider not the land/lot owner.......liability waiver form i believe its called

Re: arrested for filiming?

i've got court in the morning for wreckless driving from LAST YEAR , they are using the footage from our buddy taping us in the truck! But i've seen the tape along with my lawyer and she's saying that my driving/riding does not meet the requirements for wreckless driving, so once she brings it to the judge, it'll get thrown out....

so we'll see what happens tomorrow and i'll let you guys know

Re: arrested for filiming?

wow...random question, there must be a story behind this...

just like others said, yes you can get arrested for filming...yes you can get your tapes seized...yes you can get your cameras seized...does it happen alot? eh, maybe about half the time...(at least here)..

i have learned when to shoot and when not to shoot...if you can figure that out and keep the cam under wraps you can get away with it...most of the time...

it also helps that i can turn off the record light function on my cam... ...got some funny shots a few years ago of cops harassing us in jacksonville with it...

cop: "is that camera on?"

me: (holding the cam right to her face) "no, see, the record light is not on."
