chain length help please
hey fellas i think i might have screwed up but just ordered chain and sprockets for my friends 2003 r6.. the set up is 16/55. and a 120 link chain . .is it gonna be too short??. should i get 130 link. .or any way to add links
Re: chain length help please
Yeah, you will be pulling out probably 3 or 4 links easy....pull the axle all the way out and put the chain on and see how many links are left over then pop them out. I got a chain breaker from pro circuit and it made life easy!
Re: chain length help please
according to the people at vortex...this is how it goes.
Down one in front....no change...more than one then you count to add length
Up any in back is one link per one tooth added needed to add to chain.
Therefore....I have a f4i for example. Stock is 16/46 with 106 link chain. if i go down one and up ten....15/56...chain length should be ten added to stock length..which is 116. if I went to a 58 it would have been 118....60 120

close but not quite....
i run a 15/60.... cut about 5 links off of a 120.

Re: chain length help please
i mean it makes sense that every tooth is gonna need a link right ?
but then again not every tooth is gonna be in contact with tha chain so on link every two teeth maybe...hhmm ...
