New-Old Tires!
Well iv just put on a new tire, it drives me mad, i used to use part worns cos they soft and already run in. Does anyone use new tires and ffind it makes you feel like you have lost skills for a while till you flatten it out?
What do you do to break in a tire?
etc etc

Re: New-Old Tires!
I have the exact same problem.. old tire you can steer your slow wheelies anywheres you want to go. New tire and you're wobbling all over the place and locking into deep lean circles while just trying to make a small turn.

Re: New-Old Tires!
Tires are the devil. It's amazing how much they change the characteristics of the bike. Every single one I have ran has been different, even ones of the same make and model.
I will never use a race takeoff though. Tried a used supercorsa and it was like trying to balance a triangle. Gave up riding after an hour and spooned it off the rim.

Same here.... supercorsas have somethin really wierd about them that makes em go all over the place, even w/ 10lbs of air in em.
I put one on for about 20min.... sucked ***.... i tried to burn it off but it sucked for burnouts too (too grippy). Never again sc1's or 2's on the rear

coming in to a circle fast an wide.... so perfect....
also helps my spreader circles.... cause im still learn'n them... got 2+ but jus got surgery to remove hardeware in my leg an remove scar tissue from my knee.... so ill be set back for alil....

Re: New-Old Tires!
it really depends on what tyre you have, i run new tyres all the time and never have a problem, try to use flat profile touring tyres like bridgestone 020 or Maxxis Supermaxx

Re: New-Old Tires!
i hate flat spotting tires.... im all over the ****** place on them. then when i feel like doin long/faster wheelies on an open road they just go wherever they want. Flatspots are nothing some circle drifts cant fix to an extent

Re: New-Old Tires!
glinglo....i think your problem might be running different tires than your used to, not new tires. new tires are the best!!!! but if your not used to that brand tire it will be different/ hard to get used to. i try to stay consistant on which tire i run/tire pressure/ etc.....

Re: New-Old Tires!
Metzeler M1's and M3's are really nice... progressive profile... stickey... real easy to turn in, and keep in control w/ higher pressure (25+ lbs).
