New-Old Tires! Well iv just put on a new tire, it drives me mad, i used to use part worns cos they soft and already run in. Does anyone use new tires and ffind it makes you feel like you have lost skills for a while till you flatten it out? What do you do to break in a tire? etc etc |
Re: New-Old Tires! practice your burn outs for a little i guess.. |
Re: New-Old Tires! I have the exact same problem.. old tire you can steer your slow wheelies anywheres you want to go. New tire and you're wobbling all over the place and locking into deep lean circles while just trying to make a small turn. |
Re: New-Old Tires! I love new tires, just take some time to see how they are. Nothing better than the first session on a new tire. |
Re: New-Old Tires! Tires are the devil. It's amazing how much they change the characteristics of the bike. Every single one I have ran has been different, even ones of the same make and model. I will never use a race takeoff though. Tried a used supercorsa and it was like trying to balance a triangle. Gave up riding after an hour and spooned it off the rim. |

I put one on for about 20min.... sucked ass.... i tried to burn it off but it sucked for burnouts too (too grippy). Never again sc1's or 2's on the rear :nono |

Re: New-Old Tires!
I love new tires, just take some time to see how they are. Nothing better than the first session on a new tire.
+2 :YEAH i hate havin a flat spot on the tire. |
Re: New-Old Tires! it really depends on what tyre you have, i run new tyres all the time and never have a problem, try to use flat profile touring tyres like bridgestone 020 or Maxxis Supermaxx |
Re: New-Old Tires! i hate flat spotting tires.... im all over the fuckin place on them. then when i feel like doin long/faster wheelies on an open road they just go wherever they want. Flatspots are nothing some circle drifts cant fix to an extent |
Re: New-Old Tires! glinglo....i think your problem might be running different tires than your used to, not new tires. new tires are the best!!!! but if your not used to that brand tire it will be different/ hard to get used to. i try to stay consistant on which tire i run/tire pressure/ etc..... |

Re: New-Old Tires! ok..... this could be making sense i had a new tire given me of a ducati multistrada was the right size but was the worst months stunting ever i crash so many times i hated it but i was like i will win but i had to take it off it was soooo bad...... Evey practice i have a diff 2ND hand tire on no wonder its taking so long to learn stuff........ |
