Bike sat awhile what todo befor starting???

I have a 00 F4 that I wreaked into the side of a truck when this dumbass kid was looking at my friends bike and took a left right in front of me blocking all escape routes . This was back in Feb. now one knee surgery, one lawyer and months and months later I got a check (for more then I paid for the bike) and a wreaked bike with a clean title. Ive got a whole front end off a 929 + radiator on the way. The thing is I started it like twice the following months but then the battery died completly and even with my jump box on it it would barly crank.

Is there anything I can do before I start it besides check the oil (should i change it, full synletic with 1000miles in it now) and crank it over a few times to get the oil in the cyinders and I guess Im going to need to change the gas to huh?

Damn the plugs are a bitch I replaced them about 6000 miles ago. I know to use the right oil. About the carb should I just spray em down with some good carb cleaner or should I pull them and really clean them out. I also plan on adjusting the valves befor I start riding again about due for a carb sync too Im sure.

Should I do all this now or let it sit the way it is untill after winter when its all back togather then start her up. It a lot of work to do all this plus Im finishing a build on my car. Would shoot myself in the foot or more in the engine if I just let it sit mabe just cranked it a few times to get the oil on the cyinders to keep them from rusting?

Thanks
