Did you fulfill your summer goals?
Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
This was my first season. When I first started in march I had so much motivation and ambition. I was humbled the first time I tried to wheelie, didn't get it much higher than a foot and powering them out for the first couple weeks. It was a disappointment for sure but I stuck with it! Wasted over 10G's fixing my bike because I smashed it soooo many times. It's been 7 months since and I'm bangin off HC O's, Rev limiter coasters, Wall stalls, 300 foot stoppies, Frog foot drags, Fast circles (still workin on em).
Some motivation and watching the best in the world do their thing and learning from it.. is definately worth it. Can't wait for next season!
That reminds me.. time to gear up and practice some RL stall jumps to 50-50. Later bitches!:YEAH

Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
HELL yeah I did.
I always wanted to go miles in a wheelie.... and this whole summer I murdered wheelies down the interstate, and anyone that rides a 600RR knows the balance point is wayyyy back there so it wasn't easy for me to learn but by the end of the summer I went from wheeling a fast wheelie chasing the limiter to balance point for well over a mile.
:YEAH I'm excited... and I learned rolling stoppies.

Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
ooh that reminds me, I hit about 90-100 feet on the 636, that was just one night of practice....so my goal of actually being able to roll longer than 5 feet was accomplished....nothing to brag about though
Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
I havent reached mine yet ....But I'm Oh So Close... I'll definately have it before the year is Over .
my goal was a no handed wheelie.... I can currently go 20 or 30 feet No hands with my left foot skimming the ground ever so lightly(on idle)..... and I've done a few one handed true sitdowns (slow)
I will get my goal before this year is over.... Or come new years eve....I'll be throwin it away...as I just Commit to a no hander
and kliewer...props to you man...sounds like you'll be someone to really watch in the future...keep up the great work

+1 for Derek. He's making incredible progress!
Me on the other hand... was doing great. Then shattered my leg at the same spot Derek has been killing it lol.
But on a good note, I've just about got every part I need for my bike coming in now. So soon I'll have a purpose built 929, and can get back to it.
Hey D... feel like helping me wrench my bike a bit?

Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
Ooh btw, my goals were:
Sit-downs to balance the point. Close... (moved on to stand-ups, and never bothered much more with sit-downs)
Learned to clutch stand-ups, and learned how to use rear brake. (had to to control stand-ups)
Got my stand ups to the balance point, then past the bp and learned how to slow em down.
Learned how to use a HB, and added the 1 mile mark to my learning curve.
Got 2nd and 3rd gear clutch ups. (some near tank slappers... so more of a first gear fan)
And then moved on to trying to catch idle. And on a fateful day, lost my handbrake to I believe an air bubble... and that day, had myself an official stuntbike! Lol.
No, no... seriously...
My leg still ******* hurts.
Soon, I'll be back to small lots, and working at it again. For the record, next year's goal is learning circles, and variations. I feel like a 2 trick pony.

Re: Did you fulfill your summer goals?
No I didn't reach em all.....but compared to last year where I could ride on the idle and do a few no handers for a few feet(photo ops!
)....I'll take what I got for now.
here were my goals:
idle HC..............check
idle spreaders....check
multiple circs.....check (nothing super....SS, foot in seat, and footdown)
SS circs............check
nth circs...........check
no hand circs......NOPE.....unless foot downs count.....wait they dont!
400' endoes........NOPE, switched to an F4i with a bent front rim...got 2 months left with a new rim now!
180degree endoes....NOPE......can get 90-120 degree......again 2 months!
nth SS...........check
long coaster.....check.....600+ feet from ~250 feet
high speed scrapes....check
got some time left to get everything, but I'm pleased for now.....the guys who ride around me haven't been riding for awhile but seemed to be impressed a lil

Yeah, there's always room for improvement. Do you have any video clips, Mike? I have yet, to see you ride. If not.......roll up a fatty, and edit me something to check out.
