is crashing with a cage still expensive???

it is at 60mph!
set back a coaster, brakes faded out, slid on my butt and ruined my favorite shorts

oh yeah, and wiped out some motorcycle parts too! If you got F4i parts(Bishop should already be sending me a new 954 front wheel) for sale lemme know...I think I might need a few!

Re: is crashing with a cage still expensive???

heres some pics for your enjoyment......and my sorrow

time to start buying parts!
strangly enough, it doesn't really bother me that my bike is messed up, and I'm not really hurting, so I just need to fork some cash out!

heres a list of what I might need, if you got em, lemme know!
rear wheel, kill switch pod, ignition WITH KEY, handbrake line for dual caliper setup,.....if you see it in the pics, I might need it (except for the front master and front wheel)

those were my favorite shorts, and the fingers blistered from burning on the asphalt

Re: is crashing with a cage still expensive???

that's all you got from 60mph? you're lucky. you must have slowed it down quite a bit before you contacted the ground.

never had a brake fade in my coasters before....i guess i don't use much brake though.

hope **** works out for ya.

60 isn't that fast for a coaster. gotta bring the heat to break 1200 feet

Re: is crashing with a cage still expensive???

I was doin some sweet LOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG coasters after seeing a bunch of squids out there doin power wheelies. Guess I came out like the squid a lil! hahaha

when it came back on the bar I slid off the seat (my 600RR seat held me ALOT better for coasters!) and actually slid on my butt long enough to be like "damn, I've been sliding a long time on my *** and fingers, my fingers are starting to hurt, better go ahead and tuck and roll" so I tucked and rolled, landed on my feet running towards the bike.

It's weird cause I don't think my heart rate ever jumped, and I didn't really care the parts were broken, was just like "damn, I ruined my shorts" hahaha

Ebay is callin, time to get some parts ordered! Again, if anyone has any F4i parts I might need shout it out, otherwise, I'm ebayin things up like always.

I can rip off about 600-650' from around 60-70mph (no guages), so yeah I need some real speed to it the 1200' mark!

ok, new goal, fix bike, regear for 100mph, try again!

Re: is crashing with a cage still expensive???

ah, you don't need 100mph for 1000+ feet....just learn to be off the brake more. you mess up more times, but when you catch that sweet spot and don't touch the brake for 500 feet, you get some crazy distance.

i'm only comin in about 80ish for my 1/4 mile. on my limited approaches i have 200 foot runup and pushing my 900 foot mark. second gear, i'm anywhere between 48-56mph when i pull in the clutch (by radar) so it's not bad. i used to use way too much brake, now i move my body around a lot to control my balance instead of using brake.

my 1100 and change on the gixxer is on my myspace (myspace.com/jeffbinder) if you wanna check it. i actually don't think i even have video of my f4i coasters and they kill what i could do on that junk suzuki.

my good buddy Andy Clem made the cage......I would put it up against ANY cage out there. I've dumped my bike like I was trying to tear it up and the only thing I've broken is slider bolts that hold frame sliders to the cage.

It's CRAZY strong! Unfortunately, for the stunt world, he started his own business and doesn't have alot of time to build em. If he had time to build and sell em, I have no doubt they would be right there with SI/FI/905/Powers in sales.

I had an SI on my 600RR and it was a champ as well, definately don't wanna take anything away from Ian there! He makes some good chit!

I was just jokin bout 100mph.......but I wouldn't hesitate to drop one back that fast.

I was pushin 550' in a lot with around 250' runup, geared 70 teeth in the rear at the top of second....I was estimating 50mph or so for that. I now have a 60 tooth rear and was almost to the rev limiter in 2nd when I dropped it back, was guessing it to be around 60mph.

I had my stock geared 600RR and could coast it the same distance from the middle of first gear, but that thing was a monster for coasters and endoes!:YEAH

I've gotten where I use more body english on the bike vs. rear brake, but this time I was wanting to slow it down alot before a parking lot entrance and had been riding the sitdown for quite awhile before I dropped it back. I shoulda known better than to use some off-brand brake fluid when I only run good ****! (Motul or Silkolene) Rest assured I'll have it rebled with good brake fluid before it's on one wheel again!

ya, i just run bel-ray or honda. 2 brands in stock at my local shop and i've never had fade.

ya, my newest venture on the coasters...i've got hte distance, and i've started to get the distance on SS coasters (600-700 consistant, broke out to almost hte 750 mark once). i'm working on the sitdown no hander. they are so sweet, but sooo hard to learn. it seems like it's taking me forever.
