POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

Well.... I was just wondering if those handbrake adaptors have any kind of valves or some weird hidraulic stuff.....or are justa threaded junction to bolt two hoses to the caliper???

im afraid that if i set a normal junction when i apply presure to the handbrake it bolw my footbrake reservoir or otherwise...when i step on the footbrake the pressure on the hoses blow my handbrake..... maybe jsut a stupid question but i want to know if its some engieering marvel or its just a billet of aluminum threaded to bolt three hoses on it...

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

OK and if its just an adapter to put the three hoses together.... then why spending money on those adapter when you can assemble one by yourself just for the cost of a longer hollow bolt and 3 crush washers???

CHECK MY DRAWING CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG...

My idea is to replace the hollow bolt that bolts to the footbrake master for a longer one that allows making a sandwich with the handbrake and caliper lines...

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

it is so cheap it would not be worth the time of machining

you wasted enough time with that drawing and this post

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

Are you saying I can put a longer hollow bolt , lets say from a front master which has 2 lines running to it, and I can put that on the rear caliper ? or would I put the long screw on the rear master it self.

****, does anyone know if this works??? or is it impossible.

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

you need to put the adapter in the port where the resivoir for the rear master goes because it will not allow presure to bleed back into your handbrake master.....

so if you have a lathe just make your own adapter you can take the measurements off the plastic peice that is in you rear master now and just drill and tap it to accept a banjo bolt then run a line from the handbrake master to your new adapter and your done......

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

i need someone to post a picture of his adapter... i want to know how its connected to everything...

for the guy who said this is a waste of time.... i preffer to waste 30 minutes on a forum learning stuff...and ending doing something by my own that actually works....than wasting 50 bucks on some korean piece of beer can aluminum that costed 50 cents to be produced...

Re: POOR MANs HANDBRAKE ADAPTER

My last question

The handbrake hose bolts to the rear master reservoir entrance? (the rear reservoir is eliminated?
