ya, you can do it without stripping the bike. it would be nice to get a weld on teh backside, but you don't need it. if you put 1/4" aluminum plate and weld that after you weld the tab back on, you'll be in business. Took me and Tim a few hours of TIG and mine was build like a tank after that.
