you have two options. You can either go with tapered roller bearings off the 954 or ball bearings off 929/f4i. The tapered rollers are supposedly better but it really doesnt make much difference and if it did they wouldnt have gone back to ball bearings on the 1000rr. If you go with ball bearings youll just have to get the bottom inner race off the f4i triple and use all the f4i stuff on the 954 triple but if you go with the tapered rollers and dont have all the races youll have to buy complete bearings. But either one will fit just fine.

getting the races out of the frame is easy. There are two notches in the bearing seat on the frame that expose the back of the race on the top and bottom of the head tube. just take a screw driver or punch and just hit them out evenly. When you put new races in just use a socket or seal driver that is is the same diameter as the race but not to big where it gets stuck and just tap the races in.
The race on the bottom of the lower triple off is a little trickier. You will have to take a screw driver and tap it between the race and the bottom triple to seperate it from the triple just use the screw driver and hammer to work off but make sure you hit evenly on each side of the race to prevent it from binding.

All ***** makes a taper bearing kit that is the same for the f4i and the 929/954 any parts unlimited dealer can get the kit or you can find it online. My experience those bearings are way better than the factory ball bearings and they take allot more abuse too. They run right around $30 for the whole kit the only thing that can be tricky is you need a press to put the lower bearing on the triple after you cut the old race off.

If you got 929 triples, the 929's have same bearings as f4i, you should be able to just slide the 929 tripple right in using those beating.

Only some 954's have the tapered bearings.

Which triple do you have 954 or 929?

If you have 929 triple and it still has the bearings on it it will go right into the f4i. You don't need to buy anything.

If it doesn't have bearings then just order f4i bearings you don't need to change races unless you want to because f4i and 929 race and bearings are the same.

+1 exactly what mofat said! 929 = direct bolt on...same bearings as f4i
