first off FTP...
So I go into court w/ a 6pt speeding and a no ins. and I walk out with dropped ins., and one month to answer to the changed charges- a 12pt. speeding + 8pt. reckless. Aperantly by stating I understood the law lingo the judge announced to the entire courtroom when we first started I granted them permission to alter the charges.

Heres the low down, I have proof the speedo didnt work, + the cop wrote it down as my bike, (it isnt) and he didnt circle time of the citiation (am/pm). I figure a good lawyer can get a deffective/ or dropped down to a lesser speeding, any input?

i believe in being courteous/respectful because it has saved my *** a few times. even so every denver cop that has pulled me over has straight up been a dick. denver pigs have a vendetta against bikes and are out to get you if your on 2 wheels. still though, speeding and i dont get a break? no problem. highway ss and i get a reckless? no problem. when you touch my **** is when i have a problem. had denver police on 2 occasions try to bend my plate back, when im on private property. ive had plenty deserved *** chewings back in AR but this never happened until i moved here. **** drives me nuts.. sorry for the tangent but anyway..

12pts ******* sucks. dont know if thats the same equivilant to 12pts back in arkansas, but ive had a few 8pt'ers. lost my license for 2 years. in all my experience getting a lawyer to fight moving violations isnt worth it. unless you get slapped with an endangerment or some "serious" **** save your money. you may get a reduction but in my case the cash i saved in fines cost me more in lawyer fees. and wtf is 2,3,4 pts anyways really. you could get that in a speeding ticket the next weekend you go out. cup your ***** and ride it out man, sometimes its best to just take it.

recommendation: you dont need a license to ride. :YEAH

 

well in ny, 6 points in a year time frame = a 440 fine + 6 point which would raise your insurance. a lawyer is worth it for any case here

 

got reckless for doin wheelie other day, ftp, anyways, asked officer if he believed in god and where the **** in the bible it says its a sin to do a motherfukin whally, GOD was goin "ya boy", and you ruined all his fun. if he can forgive me so can you.
(na i thought of sayin, maybe if he wasnt so pissed, maybe next time) someone try it let me know how it works out

The federal supreme court about 8 years ago rendered a ruling that minor mistakes such as not circling a box or putting in an incorrect statute ect (minor clarical errors) are not sufficent to dismiss the charge any longer....like the old days...

The speedo calibration really means nothing, speed is speed and mechanical defects are not exceptions for law violations the only possibility in that area is to show a receipt from a certified speedo calibration shop that the problem was corrected and possibly the judge will reduce the charge but no garuntee...

 

I always bring a lawyer. Im natorious for getting made an example out of and the lawyer usually puts the squash down when that tries to happen. Plus, my lawyer rides with the local judge and the judge actually got me out of my last two tickets only because my lawyer was his buddy.

 

never go to court without a lawyer specially when there talkin bout beating you up and down the court room....****** stick it to them a good lawyer thats friends with the judge can work wonders...my buddy got arrested from drag racing and only got a fine, then got pulled over for doin over 130 and got arrested and got out with jus a fine no supsension of license....trust me man those lawyers are worth their money!!!!

i got a lawyer once.....and it was the biggest waste of money ever, self representation has always worked out well for myself and my teamates.....just remember to try to prove yourself as an asset to society.

True , yer in **** hole ...theres no way to fix it ..if it happens then yer might be lucky if u got away with it.

 

I suggest you at least go and see the DA. Try and plead with the DA, if you feel they aren't working with you then ask for a trial at that point get yourself a lawyer... if you need one, I know of one.

 

I can prove the speedo was signifigantly off, + it was not my bike. Ive never had a speeding ticket on a bike before, and have a pretty clean DMV record. I've test rode thousands of bikes as a part of my carrer with no problems ever before.

 

man it dont matter if the speedo is off, thats your responsibility to make sure your machine is operating correctly and road worthy. how fast were you going anyways?

judge dont give a **** if youve rode 1 bike or a thousand, you were breaking the law. the only defense you might have is if say you were going 85 or 90 and traffic was going 85 or 90, you were just flowing with traffic because you knew your speedo was off. either way, man up and take the punishemnet bc i doubt your gettin out of it.
