Sorry to say, but that 10K bike loan will be the least of his worries. His hospital stay could easily break $50K with multiple broken bones that require surgery, anesthesia, ICU, recovery, drugs, rehab, follow-up visits, etc. fukin etc.

*** full-coverage, get health insurance.

+1

I broke my knee and NOTHING came out the skin, no surgery was required, just a broken bone, 3 days in hte hospital for observation, and a knee brace..

$12,000 was the grand total..... I bet if I had surgery it would have at least doubled the cost

Most health insurance doesnt cover motorcycle crashes. Mine doesnt anyway and i have Oxford. One of my boys crashed into me a couple of months ago and I found out from Oxford. I'm trying now to get Progressive to pay the bill.

Why is it always the same story? Someone with a brand new bike, no license, no experience wrecking their $hit at an incredibly ridiculous speed.

Cause my friends a dumbass and wouldn't listen when I tried to give him tips. I told him to learn rear brake controll before he gets any kind of major speed & I guess he was more worried about showing off instead of taking the time to learn **** the right way. I kept trying to give him tips & he ignored them all and wanted to do **** on his own.

And I found out earlier that he definatly has no health insurance eather. I wasn't sure so i called his mom & she said he doesn't have bike collision, or health insurance. I'll bet he never thought that could be a $60,000 wheelie.

Re: 05 Gixxer totaled?

my buddy had an 05 gsxr 1000 that went down.

there has been talk that on the 1000's there is a recall on their swing arms.

at the weld they are know to snap, and can do so at low speeds of 35mph.

My buddy is in the middle of a law suit with suzuki now, trying to be reimbursed for the bike and injuries.

Re: 05 Gixxer totaled?

Update-
His hospitol total including being pu to sleep(can't remember the word), sugery, hospitol stay...
He's looking at around $50,000 USD.
Plus $10,000 over the nex't 5 years for the bike.

Plus I just found out he had another visitor I didn't hear about. A NYS Trooper. He told him he had 3 witnesses with written statments saying he was doing a wheelie, and driving wreckless.
The cop gave him 3 tickets.
1. Falure to keep right
2. Wreckless driving
3. And some other moving violation I can't remember.

I guess when the cop came he asked how he was feeling cause his day was about to get worse. I guess the cop was an *** hole & didn't cut him any slack even though he was barley consious in a hospitol bed with broken bones & ****.

So that was a $60,000 dollar wheelie, not including his tickets he got, or pain medacin.

Definatly felling it. He can't walk yet, he's doing good but still in pain.
I guess he's done with wheelies, and wats to eather get a cruiser, or a stretched show bike. But I don't think he'll be able to afford one until he's close to 50. By then his debt might be close to paid off.

I probably would. I guess he's trying to get medicade and he said if they approve him they will pay for part of it atleast.

And if he files Bankruptcy I think you still have to pay back a big percentage still. They changed the law here recently & I'm not sure exactly what percent you have to pay back. Thats what I heard anyways.
