New competition category for Stuntwars 08'
Re: New competition category for Stuntwars 08'
if theres 3 girls who stunt and there is 3 places in an all girls comp, then they would be stupid not to enter.. they would get $$$ and they would get thier names and probably pics in magazines

Re: New competition category for Stuntwars 08'
I hate to say it, but how many girls have posted up yet that they're ready to sign up for the category? Haven't really seen one yet... Sorry Jodie, you wanted to offer support & opportunity, and it is appreciated, but doesn't look like the demand is really there as much as the girls SAY they want it-- nobody has stepped up yet. I think you inadvertently called them out on it through the best of intentions. I gotta say, the girls' voices have ironically been heard through their silence. All talk, no action. Well.. that kinda gives you your answer, & IMO effectively puts the debate to rest, for the time being. You tried. *hug*
Re: New competition category for Stuntwars 08'
Uh-uh, no way, not for me. No pride or accomplishment in that whatsoever. You win either way whether you put in no effort or have a total crap run, or whether you busted your *** and far exceeded all your previous season scores. To me, that completely de-legitimatizes the whole point. Yes I just made up a word there. :YEAHSo I raced alongside the men, most of which had far greater experience & superior vehicles, but guess what-- I still took home trophies. Ones that I knew I EARNED. Beyond that, a car, like a bike, are both machines damn near equally capable of being operated by a competitive person regardless of their particular possessed genatilia.
Get up to date dear.
Tandem was and always has been a mere stepping stone to my ever-present intentions & determination to compete solo. Just an arena I utilized to get my feet wet & not be idle during the times I was without a stuntable bike of my own. (Was NOT gonna stunt the Aprilia, for 100+ various reasons.)
Unfortunately, I have recently experienced yet another setback as yet another bike deal fell through, so back to square one I admittedly have found myself again.
Honestly I could have had many a stunt bike by now had I been willing to compromise my personal standards of acceptable & respectable behaviour, but I would rather it take me ages to achieve something myself the hard way than to spread my legs instead. Say as you wish. Pride is priceless.

If you or anyone else quick to scoff are so eager or curious to see me stunting solo, feel free to assist in the efforts to obtain a bike for the job!
It's honestly the only thing holding me back, and a frustratingly recurring issue at that lately. So toss me the keys or stfu!

On a lighter note, I do gotta say, getting that comment from the self proclaimed Mandem Bitch was definitely a humor that did not escape me...
On that off-topic topic, seems half the local guys I know are starting to play with Mandem lately with intentions to compete! Hey, I'm all for it. I actually had someone approach me at an event and ask me what I thought about mandem tandem in competitions, whether it was fair or not (might have even been you Jodie, I can't remember?)--- and I was thinking "are you kidding me? What an insult!" Think about it. What was that really saying in a simply polite & diplomatic way.. lol.. Not my fault if chicks aren't doing their best to contribute more to raising the competitive levels & standards. Definitely doesn't mean you should segregate them from the ones that do, cuz they happen to be guys. Let the score sheets do that. But seriously, yeah-- the Conway & Bill D pair up for example would of course blow everybody else out of the water by far, girl/guy or guy/guy either way... but unfair? I say no. **** that. Whatever steps up the game! Makes it more interesting too. The lack thereof being one of the common gripes about most tandem at present state, and one shared by myself as well... so I would love to see anything that steps it up & makes it more demanding! You go boy! Do yo thang!

WASN'T ME!
**There will be a ladies event........ I just think that the ladies need to get their practice on before they actually open up, and commit to competing!

^^^ I wub my roomie!
LMAO! Wow. What a distorted little reality you got going on in that head of yours! Funny thing is, I had a premonitive feeling someone like you was gonna come out with something like that, so much so that I almost posted a pre-emptive reply in advance to counter such a mal-assumption. Sad, that predictability is...
Take a moment to bring yourself out of your perceived reality & into the actual world of the rest of us and give me a unaltered quote of where, in this thread or ANY, I have EVER made ANY suggestion to my having any personally held beliefs or illusions of myself being so great, or the best or expecting to become the best, etc etc etc... Never said anything of the sort there deary. Cuz that ain't how it is, in any way shape or form.
I don't think I'm the best or even one of the best in tandem, I'm just a noob who happens to have many of the same gripes most of the rest of you also have about tandem, but apparently that attitude is somehow often mistaken for disdain sourcing from personal illusions of superiority & grandeur... so yyyeah, ya definitely got me all kinds of wrong there buddy.
And on those same lines of gross misinterpretation, **** NO I don't think I'll be able to just hop on a bike & start killing it! That ****'s gonna take ages of broken bikes & bones, & quite honestly I doubt I will ever attain anything beyond "decently respectable" at BEST if I am ever even that lucky!
And if someday I am indeed able to achieve that much, that very well might be satisfying & rewarding enough to me to be happy with. Dude, rer-read, and all I said or intended for anyone to derive was that what is holding me back from beginning to start learning to stunt solo is a bike-- NOT that I will have any "mad skills" and "be the best." Yeesh...
Look.. just cuz I have my sometimes demanding personal opinions about how I'd like to see the sport stepped up over time, in no way should be taken as me implying that I feel *I* will be one of the ones able to do it, mmkay? Where you got this notion of me having such a rediculously engorged ego is beyond me...
I also possess none of this "ooh ooh, look at me!" attention-***** mentality you suggest-- I have little concern with looking pretty on a bike, and yes despite being asked to pose in those pics on a friend's bike in SSB, I really have no particular intentions of being a model of some sort or anything okiedokie? This sport batters, bruises & breaks your body, so any prissy wannabe chicks thinking they can pull off dabbling in it for the attentions sake but don't want to break a nail, will NOT last long.
I myself am already farrr too rashed & scarred for you to catch me in a bikini anywhere away from water.. So all in all, I loved your little adjustment on my quote. Cute stuff.
In closing, yeah buddy, you reeeeally got me ALL figured out don't you! LMAO. Thanks for the entertaining little picture you painted of my exact polar opposite, I enjoyed the laugh!
-[I truly am sorry to the rest of you for the tome fo a post, but every so often one of these proves necessary to clear up recurring misconceptions as they become evident to me. It won't happen much, many of you know me well enough to get me, but from time to time it's obvious the occaisional dillusional needs some straightening out & warrants an enlightening.]-

Re: New competition category for Stuntwars 08'
To get back to the topic at hand, perhaps by the time Stuntwars rolls around, things will have changed and there will indeed be some contenders.. I know there are a good handful of so-far rather determined girls with their eyes on that goal, and if that happens on schedule & they are added to the list of such others as RRC, Crashtina, Krazy8s, etc.. you may just have enough candidates after all. Who knows, we'll just have to see how it all ends up when the time comes, and not waste any more breath debating & discussing till then. It's up to the girls to make it happen or not.

) Hehehehe Matt is extremely curious as to why you are up at 5am too *****. He doesn't have an excuse himself, but is still inquisitive as to yours. lol
