si cage and f4i

i got a si cage on my f4i. when i got it the guy said he couldnt get the bolt tight that goes infront of the headers.

long story short i knocked the bike over and when i got back home i looked at it and there was no bolt in it.

what bolt do you guys use to hold it together infront of your header pipes?

3/8 bolt is what they send with it. The sockets tend to get stuck in the bar when you tighten it down, just lean the bike and tap the bar with a hammer and it should come loose.

Re: si cage and f4i

for my 636 it came with a allen head bolt. the other end is threaded, so no nut is needed?

Last edited by chirpin4th; May 27, 2007 at 01:23 AM. Reason: I would use locktite on that bolt.

Re: si cage and f4i

if you use a flanged head bolt and a flanged nut you can run the correct size bolt, but you will use a smaller socket so it won't get stuck in the hole.

the size you want is 10mm (or 3/8") but you want the flanged bolt head and flanged nut. that will keep the socket part smaller so it won't get stuck. if you use the normal size the socket barely fits in there then gets trapped.
