k6 600 gsxr wheelie in first? help?
k6 600 gsxr wheelie in first? help?
ok i have a k6 600 gsxr with 1500 miles on it, i take it to 8k rpm in first gear slowly then gas it hard and some times it comes up and sometimes not, if i give it a good tug on the bars it comes right up but i thought i shouldnt have to tug on the bars i figured it should have enough power on its own to come up, anyone else here have to pull hard on the bars or does it just come up with the gas, anyone? the 06 and up gsxrs have the engine moved farther forward so its a lot harder to get it to pop up, anyone got some advice id feel more comfortable just giving it gas to get the front end up (this is kind of just for people with 06 and newer gsxr's because the engine is moved farther forward and that makes it a lot harder to get it to wheelie)

ITS A 600 NOT A 1000 ,USE THE CLUTCH OR DONT WASTE YOUR TIME CUZ AT 8GRAND BY THE TIME IT GETS UP REMOTELY DECENT YOUR OUT OF GEAR AND NOWHERE CLOSE TO BP.
OH YEA, IF THE ENGINE IS BACK FURTHER IT WOULD WHEELIE WITH LESS EFFORT

Gotta use that clutch!!
Because if you are using power, dude is right. You will be way out of gear by the time you get 2 comfortable BP...even if the tach goes all the way to 16, it doesn't matter. 1,000 cc, 600c, 750cc, it doesn't matter. We all use the clutch...it is something you will sort of pick up on and it will be no biggie after a while. Think about it...
...if you can't use the clutch to get it up, how are you gonna ever shift correctly in your wheelie then to have any distance?
