Stop Stunting to Lift Weights?
Stop Stunting to Lift Weights?
This is kinda like a dual-topic:
I was wondering if anyone else has taken time off riding to get into a weight lifting routine?
I kind of let my body go to crap the past few years-eating crap, smoking, drinking-Didnt really care about working out-figured riding was enough of a workout.
A buddy of mine got me to sign up at Golds Gym about 2 months ago. I quit smoking, stopped drinking sodas and fast food, and I'm really into this weight lifting stuff. I've been going 4-5 times per week since then--it feels real good and I've noticed a considerable change in appearance and strength in only 2 months of consistent lifting (I took before and after pics)...BUT, I've barely had 1 or 2 decent stunt sessions since I started lifting so my seat time has been crap or close to it.
I'd like to merge riding back into my routine--I kind of lost some interest in stuntriding all alone--strange because I used to not care--
Maybe taking some time off to get back in shape is a good thing--its different and exciting changing your body. I enjoy working and seeing real progress.
So I was just wondering what everyone elses view is--Ever just feel like doing something different NOT related to motorcycles? I found an escape by working out--anyone else take some time off then get back into the game maybe as a better rider?

Re: Stop Stunting to Lift Weights?
i lift 4 times per week and still find time to stunt. it only takes on average about one hour to workout! as long as you dont spend alot of time bullshiting with bitches and friends in the gym...
Re: Stop Stunting to Lift Weights?
Its tough doin both. During the week, I will work till 5 and then go home.
I mix a protein shake, load my bike and hit the spot by about 6. I ride for a couple hours, and follow that up by goin to the gym till about 9.
Honestly, it sux. You get home at 9:30 or ten to eat, and then go to bed and do it all over again the next day. And goin to the gym after ridin for a couple hours ain't no cup of tea either. You are already shot.
I try to hit the gym four days during the monday thru friday, and ride two, sometime three days during the week. Some times it works, sometimes it doesn't.
And I still suck at riding. And am skinny...

Re: Stop Stunting to Lift Weights?
I work out everyday and still find time to ride. I split my routines up between long and short days. Stunt on the short days.
Mon - chest/ 40min eliptical
Tue -Back / 40 min eliptical
Wed- eliptical
Thur - tris-shoulders/ 40 min eliptical
frid- bis/ eliptical
sat and sun just eliptical
I blew out my back and cant do legs anymore, or that would have fallen in there.
I seriously have only missed 3 days this entire year, I think I may have a problem, but I used to be fat, and now Im not and never going back. Its been 4 years!!! Oh and yes, your riding will improve the better shape your in.

my shoulders pop like crazy, and they start hurting after doing like 2 sets of 10...so I quit doing that, guess I've crashed one too many times, my shoulders always hurt
I was running 1 mile early every morning, but got lazy again, I'm fat...
