Not that it helps, but I have stopped ripping on people for being stupid for similar reasons.

i tried to be a super hero and try clutching it from the side.never did it before and the peg got me..i'm a dumbass because i was thinking about taking it off and just got lazy.i did how ever manage to get it to sit on the bar,i didn't feel it until i felt the blood run down my leg.
