Re: Dual Caliper Set up...advantages...disadvantages?

I got a 1000RR MC and the hai hb adapter kit, and I've gotten used to using it some on seatstanders, but I'm still trying to figure out wether I like it mounted inside or outside of the clutch. That's the bigger issue to me right now. I think dual caliper is superior to the adapter, even if it is overkill. Adapter is all I need right now, maybe when I'm big ballin and rockin hc coasters I might consider a dual caliper though. It's definitely the better setup. The greatest advantage I can see would be being able to use a multi-piston caliper with the brembo 16*18 MC, which is what it's designed for, and a single psiton caliper with your footbrake MC, which it's designed for. So you should be getting primo feel out of both, instead of one or the other.

hard"corps" huh gimme a "brake", you aren't even stuntin the foot brake for nothin yet, how can you say you're tryin to get weened off of it when you've barely even found the tit yet?! You're still a poser/squid, you're not ready for a handbrake... save your money and your breath and shut the hell up and get out of this thread n00b.

there shouldn't be anything wrong with the fullthrottleinc set-up, bill makes some real quality stuff!

is your handbrake mounted where you are going to use it to bleed it or are you bleeding the brakes with the lever facing towards the gas tank? If you try to bleed it upside down it will leave air bubbles in the master cylinder. Also, theres a lil trick with slightly "cracking" open the banjo bolt at the front master cylinder to bleed the remaining air bubbles out of the master. Its irrelevant if you have a radial master cylinder because there is a bleeder screw on the master cylinder for that.

I just have the crappy $50 adaptor on my 600rr and it bled out perfect.

If you go to auto zone and get the $35 vacuum bleeder you pretty much can't go wrong. I don't think it's possible to bleed brakes wrong with it, it's money. It makes bleding brakes a piece of cake and no mess at all.

I like hohey's dual set up because I know it's always there when needed. The same argument can be used for a Full Throttle set up. So it's really up to you what you want.

Re: Dual Caliper Set up...advantages...disadvantages?

i've run both full throttle and welded dual caliper. they both work very well and do the job. it comes down to cost.

the cost of getting a full throttle set up sent to australia is marginally more than a home brew dual caliper set up. but over there, it may well be cheaper to go the full throttle master. once you set the full throttle one up right, it's golden and has little discernible lag.

Re: Dual Caliper Set up...advantages...disadvantages?

yea its a habbit. wtf? for the record im not a master sergeant. second, my life makes a differance, because i can talk ****, can and have backed it up. Excuse me if i havnt been stunting as long as you or whoever. Where you were in the fight for falluja? Yea, thought so sitting on your ******* *** back in confort in the US. Blow me, i dont giva a ****. Why dont you get out of the thread?

What started this thread was

"Well I was considering picking up a dual caliper set up for when I finally get around to putting a hand brake. But then someone told me that Mana used to run a dual caliper but switched it out for a Full Throttle brake master instead. Anyone know why he'd do this? I tried messaging him on myspace but he doesn't go on very often. Thanks."

Which would imply that it was for QUESTIONS about the HB setups. So if you dont like it, the click the little X up top.

Do you know what these are? I earned it, did you? shut the **** up.

Man, I'm not trying to dis on the military or you being in the military, I actually give you props on that, it's just funny how you are always trying to point that out in every post with your euphamisms and play on words.... as for the person who started this thread, they thought an adpater setup might be better for some reason because mana switched to an adapter setup. He was asking people who knew more than himself, which was really better. The answer is the dual caliper is better even if only slightly and at a lot more cost to setup. The only reason mana switched to an adapter is because he got sponsored by fullthrottle. A n00b not having footbrake skills and only having been on this site a month really shouldn't be having 5 posts on the first page of a thread like this Conversely, you had valuable info on the chatterbox in the other thread and your input was appreciated there, but this thread, well, you're just mucking it up with your squidliness. Not saying we weren't all squids at some point but just try to read more and post less on what you don't know. ooh-rah

Yea the hardcorpse thing was an accedent. My buddy was at my house wearing a hardcorps shirt, and when i typed that, i read it so yea. My user stuff was having errors last night, thus the reason i didnt edit it. I'll be the first to say im a squid at stunting, but when people poke fun at me for what i do i get heated quick. And sorry for "mucking it up" Im just trying to figure out the best way for me to get learnin with the HB, cause last weekend i started being able to slow my **** down, so im super hyped. And i've read some down run a foot and some run both, and i was looking at the adapter and parts, and was a bit confused on if one eliminated the other if you ran one caliper. Thats all i was trying to figure out, and i did so thanks. I think im gonna go FL HB and see how i like it, and see how well i can pick it up. That way i dont waste money on something i might just wind up sucking at

AAAND the reason i have the posts is cause i got hurt, and put into a POG (person other than grunt) battalion where we all just sit here, and since im not trained in what they do, i sit here on the cpu all day. It bullshit, cause my unit is in the sandbox right now, while i sit here and wait to see if the corps wants to keep me or give me the boot. sad days these are until i get home to the bike. Im well enough to ride, but not to fight... both are hard on you, so idont see why theres any question...
