Re: Why Can't I Get Rolling

Thats What I Thought As Far As The Adjustment Because I Just Wrecked And It Did Hit The Clutch Lever But It Still Seems To Work Ok But The Lever Is Bent But Why Would That Let The Higher Gear Roll But Not Lower

Re: Why Can't I Get Rolling

If it's out of adjustment and partially or fully engaged it will roll easier in 3rd than 1st

Re: Why Can't I Get Rolling

If it's out of adjust yeah, you may also have to re adjust at the lever.

I will second that..........clutch will mainly drag due 2 reasons. Out of adjustment and/or it has been overheated. Theres a really easy explination for it rolling in 1st easier than in 3rd. Your clutch inner hub (while pushing the bike with clutch pulled in) spins faster in 1st than in 3rd, with this in mind there is more force needed to overcome the friction between the steel plates (inner hub) and the friction plates (basket) in 1st gear over any higher gear. In simple terms while pushing your bike you have more leverage on turning the engine componets the higher gear you are in. If you put your bike in 6th gear it would be even easier to push. To demonstrate puch start your bike in first....and then try 4th.
