Buy an engine. You're gonna wreck again, your insurance will go to **** if you start claiming everything.

heliarc the block if its not that bad and the cranks still straight. thats what i would do. given the choices youve listed I'd go for a new motor, cus if you try to "break even" your not finding another bike for the 700 youll spend on the engine

Re: Trash It Or Keep It

Ive had several people call me in the past week about their experiences with a sick cage. One was a 929 that looped at 60 on the highway. Bike kartwheeled many times. When they got to the bike it was layin on the cage still running.

Second was a 04 gsxr that got rear ended by a truck. The bike was smashed and wedged under the truck. From the Cage foward it was perfect...

Re: Trash It Or Keep It

my 905 has taken a beating a cpl high speed wrecks, pancakes etc hard to get off and on but still working for past 3 yrs lol. Had to reweld the bottom rod that goes through that was it.

I want to try a sick cage when this one finally ***** though heard nothing but good things.

Keep the bike if the frame and everything else is ok and get the motor

a cage will **** you up, the protection you get on your bike sometimes comes at the expense of danger to your own limbs
i dunno about any cage saving a bike from sliding into a curb at 60mph though...

Re: Trash It Or Keep It

Yeh just patch it up... Insurance should be used for any damages that would cost more than the value of half of your bike... If you paid 6,000 and cost you 3,000 to fix it... sure thing... but since it's only 700 bucks it's like Geico... "So Easy, Even a Caveman could do it">>>
