idle..... how important?
Re: idle..... how important?
you can slow wheelie with stock gearing and no idle but you have to have that throttle hand trained.i usually get in the balance point and blip it to where the bike is weight less(covering but not using the brake) and slip and blip.and so on
Re: idle..... how important?
i use the brake on fast wheelies as well as slow wheelies, but ive had the same pads for as long as ive been riding. i just tap the rear brake every second or so real lightly...
never gotten brake fade, yet...

Re: idle..... how important?
then you need to get better throttle control so you don't ....
and your either not doing fast long wheelies or you have the best brake system in the world.....

Re: idle..... how important?
i never ride the brake, i just tap it too keep it steady...ive seen colt, rob, tony, etc do wheelies on the streets the same way
second gear at about 50 or so for a few minutes at a time.

Re: idle..... how important?
when you say slow what do you mean? how slow? you say you wondering about the unlimeted wheelie but for that wouldn't you have to be using some kinda back brake? cause if not you are only using throttle and that will eventually not be slow. correct? do you understand what im saying. if your not staying at a constant slow speed, and for an unlimited wheelie you will deff need to stay at constant speed. someone help me if im not clear
Re: idle..... how important?
true that! I've never really covered the brake. I grew up on 3 wheelers and learned bp. But it's a lil diff on a bike. pavment hurts more than grass! And i can't call in to work with anymore broken bones.
Re: idle..... how important?
yea that was a little harsh but the kid likes to throw out digs about big sprockets ,even when i could do any thing he could do even if i put my bike in second gear....
correction i can do ten times what he can do even with my bike in second gear ......
