brembo brake review
brembo brake review
So ive been seeing all these brembo handbrake threads for awhile now. it got me interested in buying a brembo master for a handbrake.
about 4 months ago i bought the 18x19 brembo billet clutch pump and have been using it as my handbrake over the 14mm clutch pump off a zx7r that i was using.
I really liked the 18x19. really tight positive feel. i dig it. it did however after a few hours of riding become really hard to only one finger the brake for me as my fingers would start to cramp and get tired.
i rode coltons 636 a month or two ago, and his bike is setup with the 16x18 brembo radial front brake master just flipped. I liked it. very strong very powerful. almost too strong actually.
anyways i decided to go ahead and try out the 16x18 over the 18x19 and had one sent over last week. i just slapped it on last night. and first off it was a pain in the *** to get everything to sit in there right with the MSR raptor i had. i still dont like the clutch/brake placements but it really doesnt leave me much options so ill have to get used to it i guess.
i only rode out front of my house for about 15 minutes, but the initial review is that its really not as positive of a feel as the 18x19, and i already once had it slam to by knuckles hard and put me to the bar. i think i may have just not bled the lines thoroughly though so ill try that again and test em more this weekend.
i also went ahead and took the 18x19 and flipped it over and replaced my stock front brake master with it. i remember colton saying the 18x19 is supposed to be used for dual caliper setups anyways.
I tried it out also. and im still not sure if i like it. could also be that i switched from galfer steelbraided lines to goodridge Kevlar lines instead. its gonna take more testing to get used to it i think i noticed right away its actually a much stronger lever than the stock front brake, but doesnt have nearly the same bite as the stock setup. but once your up in an endo i think it does have better feel overall, but like i said ill have to do more testing before i really make an opinion.. who knows.
anyways im gonna go back to bleeding that handbrake cause aaron coltons still felt waaaay better than this one. lol
