Made a mistake need some advice...
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
You learn faster on a bike you can 100% trust. Besides, I'd rather be riding than being in the garage trying to fix a busted *** POS. You get what you pay for.
All my other friends went through that crap. The bike will look good, but then it has electrical problems. Or it doesn't ride straight because the frame is tweaked. Or the motor blows after a couple months because the previous owner hardely changed the oil. In the end, they come out spending almost as much money as you trying to get everything working right, while you are out there getting the practice time in.
I'm not sure what you mean by stunting a dirtbike. But if you were doing well with that, then concepts should easily transfer into streetbikes and i think you'll do alright.

Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
If you stunt that bike, I will slap you. You might as well make a $3000 pile on your lawn and burn it.
You wont make a killing selling the fairings, you might make a G, plus the trouble it is to list/ship the, and thats to say you'd be riding a piece of **** without fairings.
EBAY
upper 200
sides 100+100
tail 150
headlight 150
tank 200
then you have to go buy some garbage tank etc to put back on it.
then you gotta shell out
250 for a cage
100 for some gears
the F4i is the most unbelievably reliable and durable bike, dont worry about buying a lemon. Ive never had to do any mechanical repairs on any of my Hondas, ive had about ten dirty CBR stuntbikes and theyve all been mechanically perfect
I picked up my F4i for 1500 with a clean title and a set of tucked in forks. honda frames dont tuck in, I put a $200 set of forks on it and had a badass little stuntbike.
im telling you bro, quit while your ahead, get your $ out of it before you break its cherry, and get something stunted out. Stuntbikes have no value on ebay, putting a cage and a sprocket destroys the value of a bike

Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
If you sell the fairings, don't sell individual pieces, just sell the whole set with the tank included!
keep this as a street bike and get another cheap *** F2,f3,f4 stuntbike.

Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
Beat her up, I beat the **** out of mine all the time. Just because its nice doesnt mean that you cant beat it up. As you long as you take care of the components, who cares what the cosmetics look like.
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
Id sell it and buy a one that has been low sided or has some minor road rash. My first F4i had 1800ish miles ... yes 1800. I picked it up for $4200 and had some light and i mean very light rash on the left side from sliding out going about 10 from what he said.
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
let some friends ride it. one of them will surely have a low side or tip over. collect some money. then beat on it like a red headed stepchild
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
dude if u know how to paint and fix **** u will be allright when u are stunin u will have a cage and other protection, so just stunt that 1 and fix it and paint it when it breaks
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
Some advice from an elder stunter...
Do you want to have paid $5500 for something that is nice to look at (aw gee, my bike is really sweet!).... OR something that truly makes you happy every time you hop on it???
If you wanted a pimp show bike... you need to trade that piece in... if you wanted a sweet stunt piece... you did right.
Once you really get into stuntin, you will realize that no matter how hard you try to keep your bike lookin good... it'll turn into a shitbox in a heartbeat (highsided a circle, flip a stoppie, off the pegs/slip off the hb, ect).
You only live once and you're only young once.... enjoy it while you can man. Don't worry about the $$. Ya can't take that **** w/ you.
Stunt that bitch and be over and done w/ it... once you get good, you can always pick up a new bike to pimp out and have the best of both worlds.... like me

Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
I started with a minty 954. then bought a f4i I think I put about 5000.00 into fixing the 954 back to minty. Buy a cheap bike, you will thank yourself later. The best thing about a beat up bike is that your not scared to crash it which will help you learn.
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
If the guy takes all his nice plastic and headlight off... and gets a good cage like a sickinnovations (this is key). There's not a whole lot of expensive damage he could posibly do to the bike... unless he loops a high speed wheelie or crashes into a brick wall.
So after the learning process... put all the nice stuff back on and wala... nice minty bike again.
No putting thousands of dollars into it to "make it minty again".
If there's nothing nice and minty on the bike, there won't be any fear of messing anything up.
I really don't know what all the fuss is over... it's a ****** Honda, it's a tank... this is a no brainer.... streetfighter it cage it and STUNT IT!

DONE. Plastics all off. Putting the upper on ebay, make around 400 getting a cage and HB, 12 bar asap
Re: Made a mistake need some advice...
I am new to the game, but money is money. I found an 03' Gsxr 600 for $1000.00, with around 6,000 miles on it, LEGIT not stolen. It came with a sprocket specialties oversize sprocket and runs great, plastics are a bit rashed but it was a great deal and saved me money. One of the guys on here got me a good discount for a 905 cage, and twelve bar. So now the bike is setup, and i just got to keep droppin it.......
