FI 12 bar question

Ok, just a couplea questions. 1st... does the pro series bar have the same mounting points as the regular bar? So if i have a regular and buy a proseries will it mount in the same holes?

Also i know this sounds crazy but i don't know if i have a regular or proseries rite now. When i ordered it a year ago, i was in a hurry and just called tim on his cell and said i needed a 12 bar for a 954 ASAP and gave all my info.. I cant recall if i had to cut the tail or if i cut it so my feet could fit, so i have no idea if it was 1.5 inches longer than the tail or not. Heres a couple pics, could someone tell me if i'm rockin the proseries or standard.

Thank you very much

I disagree. The standard bar looks like a luggage rack and sticks way the **** out there. Scrapes at like 11.

His looks like it straights verticle, making it the pro.

I have a pro on my f4i. It scrapes just a touch behind 12, like 12.30.

Re: FI 12 bar question

Just curious do you guys just throw it on and mount it where they tell you or do you actually check the angle and length your self. Maybe F4i is different but I don't see the need in a different bar all you have to do it move it in a little bit. Mine was mounted 2 inches in from where they told to put it in the instructions and it was actually right where the end of my tail was. Exactly 12. Well I moved it in another inch then cause I wanted it further in. Now I have a custom made round bar to fit the tail and look clean.
Sorry just never seen the need in a different bar just slide it foward thats all, square it up with the neck and make sure you have 3/16-1/4 clearance at the bottom of the bar with a straight edge between the tire and top of bar.

I completely agree. For an f4i, you should just be able to cut and redrill the holes, and you are good to go.

But I used to ride a 929. The subframe on that was tapered and angled, unlike the f4i which is straight and boxed. I ran a powers bar, which hung out like a snow plow. I to cut and reweld that down, maintaining the same bolt points. You can still cut and adjust, but you have to hold the contour to the angled subframe, so you can't just slide it down like ya can on an f4i.

Its a pro bar.

If ya really wanna be gangster, cut it an weld it so that it is up against the subframe, then it will be like you are scapin subframe.

Darius' bar is right on his subframe. He probably had it custom cut to that.

Your tail is cut anyway isn't it? I think the round bars look kinda hokey with a cut tail, kinda defeats the purpose. Ya gonna but a stock tail on there?

Re: FI 12 bar question

The f4i bar can be cut down and mounted at any length, thats why darius's bike sits so far back on the bar (altho I thought he just scraped the subframe?) .. I have a pro series bar on my f4i and it sits at the same height as those pictures, so I'd say yours is a pro series bar mounted up as standard... you can cut them down and re-mount on the subframe if you want to go shorter, I'm gonna do that soon :YEAH

thinking about it,but at the same time i have so much more to learn and to make the bike look pretty is going to be pointless.i'm almost sure that i'll loop a stoppie soon.i'm just deciding on which tire i want to run,and i'm out there.the longest i got right now is 2-3 hundred ft.i want to pull a bill D stoppie.1000 ft! it's not fair-he makes it look easy

Re: FI 12 bar question

on the 954 there is no way that i can see to remount it, its contoured with the subframe, so the whole assembly cant go back anymore, only thing could be to cut and reweld
