Re: What do your sponsors do for you!?

you know if you guys really want sponser the big companys will help you out in little ways, sometimes little help is better than no help. You will have to compete in some events, but if you write up a nice resume on what you have done and mail them to k&n , bel-ray and other companys they will give you what they call racer support, you might get some free plugs or oil anything helps

regardless of wether you like roadrash chic or not, or believe her to be a skilled rider or not...

fact: she is the most publicized chick rider in this sport, as well as the most skilled girl rider in this sport, and until another girl thats better comes a long. then road rash is queen. and shes put more heart into this **** then you have. cut her some slack retread!

haha..shes put alot of money AND TIME.. buti guess you can call it heart...
..and theres other females in this "sport" chrastina is doing hcs and ****.....but maybe she doesnt have the money or the parents...to travel arround the country promoting yourself. to get sponsors or rep.
And bro..i havent put **** into this "sport" except maybe posting a few videos and pictures...and money into my bike so i can keep it maintained...lol..and the occassional 5 bucks for gas to make it out to the spot ...and i never said she wasn't doing well wiht it..shes doing GREAT..better then most of the people who can ride...i give her props for that and that alone...which prooves my point of posting in this thread..YOU DONT NEED SKILL TO GET SPONSORS....more like money..the ability to set yourself up as a good image...oh yeha and HEART

amen to that...

nick apex told me once a while ago how a few years back he was really active in snowboarding, until he hit a realization, that the one thing most "pro" athletes have is support of their parents. thats an awesome thing. not everyone can have that, and it sure does make a big difference.

support doesnt always have to mean money.
just knowing that you have a family and friends supporting you, and believing in you, wow that a whole different kind of sponsorship eh!?

interesting..
i still wanna hear more peoples opinions of sponsorship
I know there are a lot more of you out there who havent put their input in.
come on lets hear it!

Re: What do your sponsors do for you!?

LOL yeah I think the only person broker than me right now is my mom! But it's been a "transitional" year so what can ya do. lol Important thing is she is my biggest fan (besides Timmy, lol) and the one I can always vent my frustrations to, etc. It means the world to me.

Ok.. sponsors... Wow I gotta say I'm hella lucky... We lost Full Throttle due to new management, and thats gonna hurt cuz they paid our travel expenses. I'm sure that's gonna do a number on us getting out to all the shows we want to... But on the flipside we got picked up by SMF Cycles, and I could never ask for more from a sponsor!!
So let's see.. I think the list currently is:
SMF Cycles (Craft helmets, Barracuda exhausts, contingency $$$ and tons of misc support)
Hazardous Sports
Vassallo photography
Fun Bike Center
MotoHeaven
Deep Six Divers
Roaring Toys
Freestyle Ingenuity

They've all done their part to help us do what we do, it wouldn't be the same or maybe even possible without them.

(old school)-mom co sighned for a couple bikes

Sponsors/Supporters are kind of on the same boat with me. We work with three companies with things we need-
1-CCi CrashCageInc. Our boy randy is a welding guru and he rides! I can't count how many times Ive gotten fast and free welding and parts. I only give him money by choice and we have sent him plenty of buisness too.
2-ImportSports I met Kyle, the manager of this import tuning shop, through dsf Brad. He has always hooked us up fast and very inexpensivly with high quality vinyl decals
3-Mile High Superbikes Mack and Kevin from MHSB, Denvers only sport bike oriented custom shop, Let us use theyre shop space and tools, provide service and customization(gixxer frame polished too

Re: What do your sponsors do for you!?

my sponsors support me in my endeavors. some do it with parts and labor, some do it with cash.

my sponsors are usually my friends, although some of them are very new.

my sponsors try to promote me and my sport.

some i have contracts with, others not.

my most influential sponsor has been argo cycles...having bikes, parts, and transportation is effing huuuuge. singlehandedlly the only reason i am where i am today.

my biggest monetary sponsor is about to change....

thats just what they do for them....i do all of that and then some for my sponsors....its not what they can do for you, but what you can do for them.

it is also NOT just about image, or JUST about skill. it's a combination of both, the sum of which can be reached with more or less of one or the other...the total package must be one of the best to get the top spots in the industry...and those spots are going fast, but the faster they go, the more is opened up for others...thats how we get bigger. i love it when my friends score big deals, bc i know that it puts me that much closer to my own deal.

i usually listen to what kane says and it works for me...man knows his ****.

Hey man.....be very thankful that you have parents who support you. I couldn't even have a quad growing up, much less a dirt bike or street bike.
I couldn't get a bike until I moved out.
