There is some things that need 2 be changed however i looked at F4 & F4i motor...They have different heads ones with knock sensor ( f4i ) and do I have to change left stator that f4 and f4i have different plugs on the stator.


F4i-gas tank

F4i-wiring harness with ecu

F4i-throttle body.

F4i-airbox.

Now , what else do i need to change ?

also the on/off switch and headlight switch,you could probably splice the f4 ones though
exhaust is different too

 

arnt the swingarm's different too?? something about the sprockets lining up.

 

sounds like way,way too much ball busting trouble...............jus grab an f4i and call it a day.

 

i'm glad someone started this thread.. i was thinking abotu doing this 2.. looks like it might be easier to just buy one and not have to worry about the frankensteined f4

 

I got my f4 converted to f4i its not that hard

 

i have talked to Honda tech about this and there is some sensor in the motor that makes this imposable... just get a new motor and sell the old 1

 

nah i doubt it , I ll find out which THE DOM already has changed from F4 to F4I with some minor things like wiring harness , throttle bodies , airbox and gas tank however i ll ask him what he has done to it.

 

i was gonna do it to mine but didint , all u have to change is what u listed in the beginning and two coolant componenets that screw on to the motor , u can take em off the f4i motor n screw em up to the f4 n ur done . easy switch :YEAH

 

i got ya ...what about the left stator f4 n f4i cuz they have different plug and the knock sensor ....so i shouldnt worry about that one too ?
