Re: Bad FI-Cage

Yes I helped a friend put a FI cage on an 04 6RR real tight up against the exhaust but we didn't have to dent the header...actually it was pretty tight at all the joints...not a very good design

Re: Bad FI-Cage

When I look at the pic of the FI cage (good post by street warrior) thereīs plenty of room between loop and exhaust pipe.

What could have went wrong in my boyīs case?

I donīt think that they put the wrong loop in the package, guess there is only one loop that is so short like the one for the 600RR.
But maybe the side struts are too short....

That is why you are the man, and they are not.

Glad I could help.

Somebody should forward this thread to Tim, because he likes to know if something should be tweaked or isn't going right.

seen it done and had to fix it personally on 600RR??? Cause I'd think putting the loop on backwards isn't possible on the 600RR because of the unique bend on this side

I just crashed mine a few days ago. I just learned to drag the 12 bar, about my fourth try I bailed off the bike. I didn't even try to slow the fall down. I pussed out.

My stator cover cracked and leaked all the oil out. The cage must have flexed, hit the cover and cracked it, then flexed almost back to normal. The frame sliders held up great.
Just a heads up on what can happen with the 929. If you don't want to wait a week after you crash, I'd suggest you go ahead and buy a spare stator cover.
I just bought a billet aluminum cover from HAI, prolly should of just bought a stock one, but the aftermarket one should be stronger. I'll find out soon enough.

Re: Bad FI-Cage

the 905 on 6rr runs right next to the oil filter, my buddy had one on his, first crash, ripped the oil filter off... looks like SI has a good design, mxd looks strong, just low.

oops yeah, powers looked the best.

Re: Bad FI-Cage

well there ya have folks every one thinks Fi is wack...unless ur sponsored by them then their great! if they were to be rplace every 5 falls then im sure they would rock but for the 99.9% of stunters who will never be sponsored or even try to sponsored they want something that is worth every penny...

so that their not wasting pennys when cages flex and crack stator covers

That's not what I got from this thread at all. I got "if you install something correctly, it will work better"

and "if you get something that doesn't fit your bike, send it back"

Easy to say, you guys pay only 30 bucks for shipping but we have to pay up to $180, so itīs not worth it to send it back.
