unless its illegal, its not gonna be a good dvd. Parking lot dvds should be done, right here right now. NO MORE DVDS WITH PARKING LOT OR SHUT DOWN STREETS ANYMORE...........
We need stoppies parked on cars at intersections and chases and all sorts of madness.

Thats not saying some parking lot **** cant be in there at all, just a small portion if youre going for an entertaining product...
With that said, there are a few people in this industry who could make a dvd the opposite, more parking lot with a few street sections, for example AFLS2, but even it could've used more street footage...

You all know you wanna buy our ****, just wait til we drop it... Theres street footage in the parking lot section... lol... Too bad I may never be happy with it....

 

and as a clarifier, i mean shut down streets as in caution taped, not how we do here blocking off highways with bikes and chit guru...

It's not worth getting into the street/lot argument, or the editing and quality argument that would come from it, but I will say this. I'm going to take a year off from making a DVD. There is no money in it first off, people are sick of buying crap and in turn don't give my crap a chance, and I'm sick of watching stunt dvds because people use a ****in high8 camera shoot it all fisheye. If you can't do better than the "best" DVD's make promo videos until you can. For all of you who still think you're going to drop a DVD and be rich that's the wrong reason for doing it, producing a stunt DVD is for the love of it, because it sure as hell is not for the money.

this may be the most intelligent conversation i've ever read on this site... every post here makes total sense... i agree a with everyone....

i think the biggest misconception is people think they're going to get rich off dvd's… trust me, that's not happening…. we lucked out by putting enough crappy videos out to compile two complete box sets and are distributed through a lot of major store chains…other than that, its really tuff to generate major revenue… so that being said, vidoes do give value and equity to your image, brand, and name which can help push apparel, stickers, etc…so its kind of walking a tight rope….im by no means saying our videos are any good, actually I hate them, but it does seem like people lately are just throwing stuff together…. im not trying to hate
on stunt shine state, but it gave me the feeling that it was filmed within a two week span.. the riding was awesome, but it just seemed thrown together…anyway, this thread started because we watched a film lastnight and and we got into a long discussion about this, so were just curious what everyone else thought..

well like u said adam people are in such a hurry to put out a dvd and they are in such a hurry to blow up i dont think thats the way it really works i think that only time and hard work is gonna make people blow up cause no one wants to see a vid were its the same lot and and in some they are wearing the same cloths in most of the clips
but what i think most of the problem is that alot of people have fallen victim to the theory that bad recognition is better than none at all and what better way to do that than to throw something out there just to get ur name out there with out any worries about quality and yea that works but it doesnt do anything for the industry cause once u feel like u've been ripped on a few dvd's u dont wanna go out and buy any more dvd's for the fear of getting ripped off and that happens more than most people think i know i wont just order a movie cause it had a good trailer anymore cause i've been burned like that and now all i'll buy are movies from people i know that are going to put out good movies (ie streetfighterz starboys and a few others) other wise i have to hear that the movie is good from someone with the same intrests as me or i see it first cause i watch at least one stunt movie a day usually more so i want a vid i can watch more than once
