HandBrake Leaking at the Plastic Connector for the Res in Master

Sorry i can't find my camera for pics but u guys should know what i'm talking about. I just got my handbrake on tonight but the plastic elbow type connector that connects the res to the master(located on the master side of things) is leaking brake fluid when you pull the lever, i guess from the added length the fluid has to travel to the rear which makes added presure. Anyway i'm looking for ideas on what to use to seal it up? anyboody?

by the way the handbrake works good besides that. i know it will work even better once this is fixed.

the master is a 03-05 R6 front brake master

shouldnt leak the plastic peice is cracked or the oring around the elbow is messed up or you dont have a clamp on the hose that goes to the res

u can try one of those yamaha doesnt list the connector alone we had the same problem on my buddies R6 when he broke it, or you can get some quick steel from the parts store and scuff up the plastic and patch the crack. That connector listed is off a ZX7R but im pretty sure if its a nissin MC it will fit.

Re: HandBrake Leaking at the Plastic Connector for the Res in Master

this is for the plastic piece, that goes from the front brake master to the brake fluid resivoir....

we discovered that under hard application of the hand brake... since it is upside down now, that plastic elbow leaks out fluid..... probably from the pressure of the line aswell. but it is only after like 2 seconds of full service application, and the rear locks up, then it spews out fluid.

but i think it is just because of the pressure, and the piece being upsidedown, instead of it's intended correct position.

the front brake is from the 03-04 R6, it isnt the 05 radial mount.... but still a good brake, the o-ring isnt bad, nor is the plastic cracked.

we will just jb weld the whole **** tomorrow, and it should take care of the leak... but other than that ****.... boi' the **** is pretty, and looks plain stock!!!! the whole **** looks like it is supposed to be there, no ghetto rigging, nothing. well, maybe the pipe clamp... but thats it.

we did a good-god-damn-job.... pics tomorrow!

if the plastic is not cracked and you dont have some thing pulling the elbow side ways then your o ring is bad........it shouldnt matter that its upside down the pressure is the same either way
