Re: handbrakes and spreaders

my first trick at XDL qualifier, comin right out of the blocks was....

One handed HC... just thought it would be cool to bring back some OLD SCHOOL NO-HB trick for the crowd, but more for the riders that were there...

Throttle control is something that a lot of us "OG" riders have that is lost amongst many new riders

there's some *** backwards logic. If you have a handbrake you can rock bp spreaders and hc's without taking the time to master throttle control... and with out killing yourself

That's why most of us progressed so slow. Now look at the progression of new stunters. It's amazing what a little handbrake inspired confidence will do for you.

it's the same idea except the inverse of clutching up a wheelie. To clutch out of a 12, you pull in the clutch and let the rpms drop to idle while the bike is scraping the bar. Then you let out the clutch and the bike falls forward.

Or you could look at it this way

you dont use your hand brake untill you NEED it, instead of wrecking, and possibly getting hurt/breaking your back/dieing.

but to each there own

me personally, I dont have a hand brake yet... But im definetly gonna get one soon, hopfully have one before I NEED one.

I've only been on a big bike 1 and a half years ... progression is about how much you put in to it.

they increased saftey, which is a big concern for a lot of new riders that wanna learn but are afraid to get hurt, not to mention they greatly advanced the book of tricks...

handbrakes are great.. if you dont have one your limiting yourself

Re: handbrakes and spreaders

slow ones I use handbrake. Scraping w/o one won't do too much for the life of your subframe... on highway I don't, but I cover it when I jump from the pegs just in case
