Hold on a 2nd Mr Darius. That article I just finished reading about you claims you sold 100,000 dvds @ $25 a pop. Now if thats the case then even us non mathematicians can say you are doing okay and that you must be getting some publicity from somewhere !

I guess those #'s were a result of journalistic embellishment ?

I think alot of the problem is that to the average person a stunt vid is only cool once or for about the first 15 min. Don't get me wrong...I can sit around for hours watching vids and clips but that is because I know how hard it is and have mad respect for those who put in the time it takes to become good at this sport. I don't know the answer...but videos need something extra, an entertainment factor of some sort. +1 on the merch table at the show....before and after....work the crowd man!

 

For example, we were at a concert around x-mas time years ago. There were obvious headliners with star status that brought us there but another act who we were not so familiar with played their set, then hung out in the crowd, partied at the bar and just plain talked and mingled with everyone there. They were a blast to hang out with. EVeryone chanted for them to go back up and play again, and i know i saw a bunch of people walking out with t-shirts,cd's and other **** from their stand they were selling from.

 

im sure darius has sold over 100,000 dvds over the past 5 years with all his dvd releases and the highest price being sold at $25 a pop. what darius is tryin to say is that all the copies sold came from hard work bustin his *** traveling the world mostly out of his pocket, not from free shows that promoters try to trick you in to doing for publicity!

 

D i bet if you set up a booth at the shows with some hoochie workin it you could sell alot more DVDs..
exposure probably is over rated but someones got to do the dirtywork to get the sport out there..
im sure Tony Hawk, Dave Mirra, and other greats have had the same feeling as you at one time..

 

I doubt darius is talkin about the money side of ****..... I mean c'mon... ***** got twin turbo vipers, vette's, trucks, etc. and the ***** does circles by his swimming pool with a hell of a view.... ***** that's the most ballerist **** eva!

but what my ***** bullo said is the bottom line, why do you think I said when I bring any stunt dvd over to a get together it is servin the "STREETS"....... cause erryone wanna see blox, and exits!

D how frequently have you killed the streets in the last month or so? I know you've had hella shows and ****, but don't you miss murderin the streets and catchin erryone offguard? goin by a gastation, doin a frog or somethin, honkin your horn would be hilarious. what about doin a wheelie behind a car with kids in it... duckin behind ya windscreen, and poppin back up playin peekaboo with the lil bastads. car full of b!itches goin to the club or somethin, and you givin them freaks a show on the freeway wit ya boi's... that **** right there is what pours out lasting impressions. the street is the best canvas ever! I used to be nothin but a track and canyon junkie, then bullo got me into stuntin... just to ride with this ***** and to personally get better, I have been spendin a lot of time practicing at the port of oakland. between my pregnant wife, my 70 hour a week job, and sleeping... I'm servin the streets to and from union city to richmond. me and my homie sytfu_rr started stuntin together, and lemme put it like this... we are progressing, but when we are practicing we accumulate a crowd. we have had people drive from teir homes that were near by because they herd the action to watch us, we had a father that had his kids for the weekend, and was strugglin to find somethin to do stumble across us servin the blox, he stayed there and pulled all his kids out the truck and they was all cheerin and carrying on. now think about that situation there....... if I was raw like you D, and happened to have a t'shirt or dvd's on hand, don't you think that would have been a worthwhile sale? you stunters with a large stunt repitwa would have just amazed them.... because they were so entertained with the common long *** sitdown and standup, and when I a foot int the seat on a woolie they were damn near doin back flips! the smokey burnouts put it overboard...... it made me feel good because when I parked it to let the bike cool down, they all surrounded me, askin how I did it, etc. could they sit on the bike... his son even told me he wanted to ride after that, makin a future stunter is worth it weight in gold! the father asked for my fawkin number so he could call and see when the next time we were commin out there. that lil bit of exposure for a medeocre rider like myself was better than many peeps in a arena that payed for a show...... that's the thing with paying customers, they expect you gonna give em a show, they demand it! why cause they payed..... the persons you stumble up on when you on the freeway, and at the practice spot, that takes time outta they day to sit watch and admire you doin somethin you like is way more rewarding..... and it don't hurt if you got a dvd or 2 on you to either give em or sell em for cheap..... just think if it was you or somethin D.... you have some stickers or somethin wit you etc.

DARIUS I THINK THE STREETS ARE CALLIN YOU....... I'm tellin you man, and I know you know. I know you get tired of lots and ****, I know you wanna go back to alhambrah valley and bear creek etc. lets go tear down the strip in oakland, hit up jillians while ****** tryin to get in the club.... murderin blox is good therapy!

half that post was joking, but some were serious ideas.... and kane, trust me. there are no handbrakes etc on my ****. my bike is stoc geared for the most part buddy, and believe there was a point in time that my woolies were never under 100mph. not everyone wanting to learn rocks geared up bikes....

anyway, back to jokeing.... my powerwoolies are the best, i'll show you a freeway clip when I get home of me clutchin up 4th and getting some exits over 117mph .

I got a average of 2-3 exits... like I said, I just started doin wheelies at bp... so I am workin my way up.... BUT I AM STILL A POWER WOOLIE DEMON!

 

after I get done doing circles in the backyard I go in the house and hatch some baby tyranasaurus eggs then chop the heads off and eat them *****, then I put some diamonds in it to make my dookey twinkle

I think that they are taking advantage of your wanting for sport exposure. Everyone is a businessman and they love something for nothing. make em come out of their pockets they can afford it...and if they are payin they'll definitely hype it up alot more so the crowd gets more involved.

watching stunts is boring...i love doing it but it's damn boring unless you see crashes...for me, it's better to watch a nicely edited dvd than a dvd full of the best stunts in a parking lot
