I am buiding a bar for my 99 gsxr......just wondering if anyone has some pics or tips for me......i remeber someone saying that its good to reinforce the subframe.

Run 1x1 angle steel around the inside of the trunk underneath the top sets of tube.

Weld the 1x1 box together (youll have to cut a notch out of the 1x1 to make room for the latch). weld your support bars for the scrape plate to the 1x1 angle, drill your holes through the subframe and plates.

Adam C. has a bar on his SRAD, if you can any pics of his bike maybe you can get some ideas.

 

No the 1x1 channel actually runs around the tubing for your trunk. You run the support plates for the scrape plate on the outside of the trunk and cut your plastic. Trunk stays intact. I tried to get pics but the guy with the camera wasn't around last night.

 

i think i'm gonna re-do my subframe completely... make it from scratch to include a 12 bar... but any pics would be great!!!!!
