Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's

Ok skaters, bikers, Wake Boarders, Snow Boarders, FMX riders, and other sports always set up demo's they always dont get paid but they kida tour. You never see just a group of guys that just go out and tour and do demos in this sport its always competition or paid gigs which granted, we don't make that much money. Travel is not cheap but i guess thats where the sponsors come in the tru ones who want their names out. We need more space, The fan base is way smaller but, just as the Xfighters and crusty demons tours started why couldn't we make a show, a gig where people want to come out instead of us going to the Xgames why not make the "XGAMES" come to us? have the mix of FMX, SKATE, BMX the dew tour but with our sport to? why cant a promoter wanna sign on to this. I guess its who you know exe but it would just kinda be fun.

We did one last weekend. TOCC worked a deal with the NHRA to have a spot for us to ride (do DEMO's) during the day while the bikes were drag racing at ATCO. Nothing big, we didn't get paid, but we did it for the exposure. We also got on the track 3 times while oil spills were being cleaned up.

But yeah i hear ya bro, great thread topic! More Teams/promotoers need to setup and do things like this in a good light. When you do these events, strive to be professional, do whatever the promoter/track operator wants, dont argue with them. Show them what we can do, professionally!

i dont know about wakeboarding and all them other things but when i did skate demos we always got paid and so did everyone else that i ever skated with. demos cost money, rather it was the sponsors paying or the people where the event was hosted. also, everytime we ride streets thats a free demo right there, although some might not appreciate our generousity haha.

I'm in the midwest and the hard time that we have in our area is a place to put on a demo. The city is not too keen on closing a street or lot off. We have a gig at the local drag strip but it's sooo unpredictable with the sticky and slick spots. We also have had a few fatal accidents recent that have put a sour taste in the city councils vaginas oops i mean mouths

i'm with tony on this one.....streets are fun, but so many doors can be opened up through closed circuit stunt riding...problem is going to be organizing a traveling circuit of riders that have places to ride in every city....

if riding streets gives us a bad name, well then were always going to have a bad name because people are always going to ride street. not riding streets maybe whats in your best interest to make a career out of riding. but you cant really expect that the guys that do this just for fun are going to not ride streets so the career riders can have a crispy clean image.

its just like any other sport our going to have the few that wanna be the outside and will learn. Yeah its fun to just ride and chill and i still just ride for fun and do that. but when you get to travel, the bike fixed, no more tickets, and start filling venues its a new level of fun.

i think youre are a little confused. just as in any "sport" it will be the fewthat will do this as a career and the rest of us (the majority of riders) will still be riding the streets for fun. far less people have the means or ability to be professional stunters who only ride in lots than the regular street rider. if you want to compare to professional sports you will see that then you should see that you cant get rid of the core of what it is. far more people will play backyard football than will ever become professionals just as far more people will ride and stunt the streets than will ever become permanent paid residents of a parking lot. you dont need to kill off the street riders in order to make a career out of stunting, it will happen because of your own ability. i really dont believe that true fans of stuntriding or even prospective fans of stuntriding are the people that get mad and call the cops when they see dudes rockin wheelies in the street.

Some good points on either side... I agree that It should be taken off the streets, and stunting in safe areas, mind you pulling the odd wheelie in the streets is not a bad thing, but bustin out circles in a very busy interection is a different story! Sure you are always gonna ride streets, but there is a time and a place for certain tricks!

i will always do cicle wheelies at busy intersections and rock heal clickers on the highway next to a car full of screaming kids. thats how this sport started and thats where i will always be. sure i will compete from time to time and do shows/demos here and there but the one thing that really gets my adrenalin pumping is showing off on the streets! there are very few pro stunters making 6 figures off of stuntriding and unfortunatly i dont think it will become a career pursuing sport in my generation so ill stick with my 9-5 and still do what i love in my spare time

Just hope you don't toss it doing one of those highway heal clickers and have the SUV driving behind you be the last thing you see as it goes over the top of you. Gather up with your friends and find some back roads with little or no traffic.

yah and lets hope you dont catch some sand or gravel when youre scraping peg around one of those corners and the last thing you see is the branches of that tree that you just got your skull split apart on. go find yourself a race track and a dictionary and look up hypocrite.
