You have no clue of how or where I ride.. And doing **** on the freeways, busy city streets puts you and the people around you at alot more risk than away from traffic...
Least if you **** up on an empty road you'll most likely not be hurt much except your pride and your bike.
But ignorant fools don't know how to take suggestions made by people who have YEARS of experience more than they do...

Re: Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's
wade from 518 can KILL the street.....most people don't know and i have yet to find good video footage that truely captures his skillz, but i've riden with this guy on the streetfighterz ride.......don't bust his ***** about his avatar being in a parking lot...he will smoke you on the streets
anyways, back on topic
touring stunt demos would be one of the best things for this sport...bottom line.

Re: Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's
the best footage ive ever seen of skateboarders come from STREET riding. thats where talent is shown in its raw form. the creativity to adapt to your environment and to use it to your advantage. thats how i would describe my talent... RAW
dont get me wrong, i can tear a lot up just as good as the next guy. ive won contests against some big names and placed above big names but the fact is that i cant afford to travel around and make it to every contest and put videos out showcasing my skills. ive got nothing to prove. and you know what, im fine with that because i support this sport just as much as you or anyone else regardless whether its street riding or in the lots. i love what i do and look up to the guys like Darius, Kane, Ryan S, and Teach who are progressing the sport in the mainstream so that when my child is born on April 3rd... he/she will already have rolemodels to look up to.
and as far as a demo tour... ive been approached by some people with similar ideas, and i am all for them! i think its a great idea for our sport to gain the exposure it needs to step to the next level. but dont expect me to stop street riding because YOU dont think its good for the sport.
every time i ride ive got people asking me : do you have a video? wheres you next show? how do i become a stunter? that alone tells me that my that ive done my job because now those people get the stunting itch and want to support. im tired of typing, sorry for the ranting

Re: Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's
april 3rd..... Thats my birthday!!
Ryan S- I wasnt busting wades ***** about his avatar...I was proving a point that he does ride in lots, and that he probably learned many of his tricks in the lot!
Like I already said, im not hateing on street riding, but I think that there is a time and a place to street ride! You just have to be respectfull enough to make sure your not endangering other peoples lives or your own!
As for the skateboarding in the streets...the best footage does infact come from the streets! But im sure that almost all the am's and pro's practice and learn in skateparks, actually thats a fact! Ive been in the skate scene for a few years and have skated with some pro's and am's in both the streets and parks, Skateing was probably what made me interested in stunting when I got my bike!! I think I transfered over some skate skills into my riding, and Im sure there are alot of stunters who come from a skate and bmx background!

Re: Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's
any of you that think pro skaters stick to parks are severely misinformed and mistaken. skating was born in the streets and remains there. there is a large contest scene that focuses on park skating and skaters who get paid for that, and there is also a huge amount of skaters who are sponsored just as street skaters, who only do videos and guest apearances and demos right in the streets. the entire zoo york team still can be found skating the streets of ny everyday. before the handrails at the brooklyn banks got destroyed it was not uncommon to find 10 to 20 pros killing that spot on any summer day. in some parts of the country where skate parks are plentiful there are skaters that grow up in them. they are called park rats. if a skater wants any kind of respect he need street credibility unless hes a vert skater. not that any of this is relevant but i was on the pro tour myself for a few years so i know a think or two about how it goes.

key word in this post RISK
i by no means will ever be on a pro level....honestly i wouldn't want to be on a pro level i personaly think that it would take the FUN out of it...once you become worried about how much money your gonna make at a show, or how good you look at a comp. you lose the whole reason this sh*t ever got started....for me and i am sure the majority of the riders on here, it's all about the fun and the risk factor with out that it's pointless....i would love nothing more to see this sport taken to the next level and go all the way and get as big if not bigger than FMX, but don't hate because some of us get our kicks off 75mph highway combos and broad day light 0's in an intersection... mad props and good luck to anyone who gets paid for riddin ther bike and makeing wheelies...bottom line me as well as the majority of ridders will never do a paid show or comp so come friday night i will be pullin a 187 on tha motha ****** streets! and buying my own gas, tires, oil, coolant, and anything else to keep my ride runnin from day to day
:YEAH

But yeah i hear ya bro, great thread topic! More Teams/promotoers need to setup and do things like this in a good light. When you do these events, strive to be professional, do whatever the promoter/track operator wants, dont argue with them. Show them what we can do, professionally!

Re: Ever Notice Stunters Dont have Demo's
Here is the bottom line most of you are taking this as a keep it off the streets thread as i stated before this is a why dont we have demo's thread. People get offensive about "the streets" but heres the deal if you wanna talk skate thats why they made a street course in comps. I dont see tony Hawk or bunquest out skating down town orlando. Professionally is key ride the streets ride the lots have fun I IN NO WAY want to take that away have fun. I'm simply stating that we need to progress the sport because no one else will do it for us.
